In the far-away realm of Termina stand the ruins of what was once an empire. The stronghold that was the Stone Tower withstood the test of time, nearly as undying as the denizens of the kingdom themselves.
In a flash of light, Sunan was brought to the entryway to the temple residing within the tower.Lucy stood by the Garo, and adjusted her hat. "Once again, thanks for saving me. Now I'll fulfill my promise. I know someone who'll have the answers as to what happened here. I've talked to him, and he accepted talking to you." She motioned towards the Stone Tower Temple. "He's inside. I'll leave you two be, and when it's over, I'll be out here to take you to the future." Lucy sat on the ledge overlooking the large drop into the tower's entrance, and casually kicked her legs in the air.

In a flash of light, Sunan was inside the Stone Tower. She didn't recognize it from the inside, but in an instant she knew the heights, and the foreboding aura of the place. She had wondered why Ikana had ever sought it.
She looked to Sunan, and nodded. Her hood was down, revealing her true face. "Thanks are not necessary. I merely did what I felt I needed to." Though Sunan had not been an active combatant against the Ministry or against Thorodan, it had been well past time for her to act in some capacity. She looked back towards the entrance to the Stone Tower Temple, and briefly wondered if this truly was a good idea.
She cast such thoughts out of her mind. She had to know. She had to understand what had happened to her people, and even what happened to the Ikana kingdom. "Very well." With deathly silent footsteps, Sunan made her way into the Temple.

Within the temple, she would find a man wearing clothes that would make him seem as a noble, though his weathered, plumed hat with a skull accessory rather make him seem like a pirate than anything else. But those things seemed superficial. For Sunan at least, it'd be a bit clearer to see than for anyone else in the world.
She stood in the presence of an Ikanian, and a live one at that.
He leaned casually on a cane which almost screamed out 'bad news' from the dark magic that emanated from it. Yet, his demeanor was casual, detached. "Never thought I'd come here once more, much less to find a survivor." He told Sunan.
"My memories of this place belong to another time...to another man. But I've made a promise, and it is one I intend to keep, for a change. So, if you want to ask what happened to our people, Garo...I'm here. I certainly would be able to answer better than that fool Igos."

Sunan stepped closer to the Ikanian. Perhaps in times long past, she would have drawn her blades right there. But the war was long over. Both of them had lost. Instead, she nodded to the man, barely even noticing the magic from his cane. "A survivor by default. I was not here when... this happened."
"The Ikana King has fallen too, I see. I have no doubts that my Masters have perished. What could have done this? This land was verdant, and now... not a speck of life."

"You're looking at the cause." He told Sunan, getting a better look at the Garo. "A very long time ago, I went by another name. I lived another life. And in that life, it was I who doomed this land."
The man held up his cane, showing it to Sunan. "In exchange for this. Life eternal, and the power to endure it." He mustered a faint, amused smile.
"It's quite handy, if you ask me. Lived enough lives worth the entire kingdom. My fault was not understanding the price. Demons always exact terrible prices for deals like this..." He looked down at the cane, twirling it in his hand.

Sunan looked at the cane. All that death so that one person could live forever. It was almost enough to make her blood boil, but she managed to remain mostly calm. "And you call Igos a fool. What sort of demon even has the power to promise something of that vein?" Sunan knew little about demon magic, but she had to guess that it would take a lot of power to give life everlasting.

"Prime Regents. They're powerful, and very charismatic. Not too fun at parties, though." Lucien replied. "Thorodan is one of them. I'm assuming you have a bit of experience with that old winged gecko. He made the offer very tempting at the time." He said, looking into the cane's crystal as he reminisced.
He then turned his attentions to Sunan. "So you know who did it. Do we duke it out now or hug, or perhaps I could interest you in a lovely smuggling venture? As much as I adore my home, this place is kind of dead now, need to turn a new leaf." Lucien's tone and pose were very casual, even if there was the potential chance of a fight.

Sunan felt herself shaking as this man talked about the end of two nations like it was a fond memory. "I should strike you down where you stand." Despite her hostile words, Sunan did not draw her blades. "You destroy my people, and you would still offer me to work for you?"
She stepped backward. "But there would be no point. Ending you, destroying your little orb? Neither would bring this land back to its former state. It and its people are dead, with only two ghosts left."

Lucien nodded. "You're fairly down-to-earth on this. I have to say, it's rare to see someone handling this subject as calmly." He commented, twirling the cane in his hand once more. "At this point I really thought I'd have your two blades thrust into my chest, but hey, kudos to you."
He approached Iamar. "And yes, I suppose in a way you could say I have destroyed your people...but Igos' war would have, one way or another. I merely pushed a resolution along, and got some benefit out of it. Do you really think, had the war not been ended by my hand, that an Ikanian shaman such as the man I was, would have ever had this peaceful little talk with a Garo soldier, such as you?" Lucien tilted his head curiously at Sunan as he asked her the question.

"Perhaps it would have." Sunan turned away. "But perhaps the war would have spared some life. Something may have still lived in this valley. I'm sure nobody now remembers Ikana as it was... but I do." She sighed, and shook her head as she looked at the ground.
"I am calm because I know not what else to do. Running you through would do nothing. I doubt it would even kill you - you certainly don't act like it would. Working with you... no, I cannot. But what, then, is left for me? Any mission, any task I may have had, is gone now. Faded away with my Masters, with my family, with the place I called home."
