Central Hyrule

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts Hyrule Field

Spanning the center of the the Kingdom of Hyrule, these seemingly grassy plains are one of the realm's most prominent features. Being at the center of the land, the fields connect to near every other region across the land.

Small Hylian hamlets and outposts are scattered across the fields, and trade routes span across their lengths, connecting the kingdom's major settlements and provinces; with Hyrule's powerful military presence, traveling Greater Hyrule is about as safe as can be.

No New Posts Lake Hylia

Fed by the Zora and Hylia Rivers, Lake Hylia is located upon the southern border of Hyrule Kingdom. Surrounded on by steep cliffs and mountains, the only easy path across the lake is upon the Great Bridge of Hylia, making it one of the only paths of travel from Hyrule to the greater Faron Territory.

No New Posts Sacred Plateau

The Sacred Plateau is a large, isolated region of land located at the southern edge of Hyrule Field. It has such unnatural steep cliffs on all sides of it that it is near impossible reach, and the only known method of access it by the path upon its northern face, which is gated off by an ancient fortress wall and guarded by the forces of the region's Duchess.

All that can be found upon gaining access to the plateau is a deserted land. Mountains and forests cover the majority of the land. Only ruins indicating what is believed to be the ancient heartland of the Hylia remain.

No New Posts Lanayru Marshlands

The Lanayru Marshlands are expansive wetland that's spread from Zorana westward to the eastern edge of Hyrule Field. They are fed steady water by Zora River and they themselves feed into the eponymous Rutala and Hylia Rivers.

At one time, they were known to suffer from terrible floods, but since the erection of the East Reservoir Dams, these days came to an end. Since then, the Lizalfos village inhabiting the marsh has managed to come to form a treaty ensuring peace with the Zora and other Hyrulians.

No New Posts Zorana Kingdom

A mountainous land east of Hyrule rich in beautiful minerals, Zorana Kingdom serves as the homeland of the Zora. When a cataclysmic event destroyed their homes long ago, the River and Sea Zoras sought out this land together and formed their new Domain.

Zora's Domain aside, Zorana is well known for providing one of the greatest sources of water throughout the entire kingdom via Zora River and Lanayru Great Spring, and is famous for its many lakes, including the East Reservoir and its dams.

No New Posts Mount Lanayru

Located south of the Zorana Kingdom beyond Lanayru Bay stands tall Mount Lanayru. Legend has it that the mountain was borne of an old spirit's power in the reformation of the world long ago. It is believed to be through this spirit's blessing that an everlasting cold rests upon the mountain's peaks.

At the base of Mount Lanayru, in the snowfields, stands a small Hyrulian hamlet that was built in honor of the gods. Only by way of Lanayru Road can this religious village be reached.

A land southwest of Central Hyrule, West Necluda is most well known for Mount Necluda, the single great peak bordering the region's western edge. Once beyond the mountain, however, one would find themselves at the edge of a great plain, its surface featuring a forest to the south and many shallow ponds all throughout it going eastward.

No New Posts Faron Grasslands

The western end of the Faron Territory is most largely comprised of a vast grassland. Almost entirely a series of plains, the region's surface is only interrupted by several small mountains and lakes.

No New Posts Faron Swamplands

A monstrous swamp located within the deep south of the realm, Faron Swamp encompasses a huge portion of the southern lands. Its many features includes lakes, rivers, and even towering waterfalls from its surrounding mountains.

In the absence of the once prominent sacred spirits, it is said that the Zonai– a foreign people known for their great strength and affinity with nature –appeared approximately 150 years ago as if from nowhere and took to protecting these lands in their place in honor of the gods.

The furthest reaches of the Faron Territory reach even out to the corners of the realm, into the sea. Here, the landscape is dominated by plateaus and mountains and a series of beaches that stretch along down the entirety of the southern edge of the region. The cape seems to be largely uninhabited apart from interspersed Lizalfos tribes.

Gerudo Nation

No New Posts Gerudo Canyon

Gerudo Canyon is an expansive gorge dug deep into the Gerudo Highlands. It leads southwestwards from Central Hyrule into the desert, acting as the primary route connecting the kingdom to the Gerudo Nation.

At one time, it was the home of Gerudo's Fortress, but the structure has long since fallen into ruin. Since then, monster camps have littered the route, making travel through the canyon treacherous for the undefended.

No New Posts Gerudo Desert

Located in the far southwest corner of the realm, the Gerudo Desert is the home of the eponymous Gerudo Nation. The wastelands of the desert cover a vast territory, expanding far beyond the reaches of most maps. Even beyond the Gerudo Desert, expanding far beyond the nation's south and east borders, lies the Desert of Doubt.

Oases can be found scattered throughout the wastes, some of the remnants of the Hyrulian Floods that once plagued the kingdom. They are now permanent fixtures, though tend to fade during dry seasons.

Within the Gerudo Desert itself lie several settlements of both the Gerudo and Bulblin peoples, but most notably– at the heart of the wastes –stands Gerudo Town, the capital of the Gerudo peoples.

The Gerudo Highlands is a mountainous region which surrounds the Gerudo Desert. Its eastern cliffs are comprised largely of many plateaus and mesas and its northern mountains tower tall over the lands, dwarfing even the tallest of the tallest mountains of Hyrule.

Gouged deep into the middle of it all is Gerudo Canyon, providing a path from Hyrule to Gerudo.

A great land beyond the reaches of Hyrule Kingdom in the northeastern reaches of the realm featuring many mountains and chasms and a series of breathtaking lakes.

Despite the frigid winters that cover these parts of the land, life flourishes surprisingly well all throughout the frontier, being the home to an abundance of wildlife and the primary home of the land's Rito.

Located at the far northern edges of the land is an open and vast plain of frigid emptiness. What little life that is found there is few and far between.

Very few are known for even making the attempt to travel here for the little reward there is to get from the risk of traveling there. Still, it is said that there are travelers on occasion that travel here from a far off foreign land.

The Snowcrest Mountains consist of several series of mountain ranges, all seemingly pressed together into a single huge conglomerate of snowy mountains. Legend has it that they were once spread all across the lands of the Light World until a great cataclysmic event long ago reshaped the world into its new form.

No New Posts Great Hyrule Forest

A massive woodland, dwarfed in size only by the forests of the Faron Territory, the Great Hyrule Forest lies at the western foot of the Eldin Mountains. Believed to once belong among Faron's woodlands itself, it is said that the final blessings of the Light Spirit granted the woods a holy blessing.

Ruins located deep within the forests seem to indicate that an ancient Hyrulian settlement built by the Sheikah once stood upon these foothills, but all that remains are its deserted remains.

A series of mountain that dominate the northeastern border of the realm. Features located upon the mountain range include the Trilby Highlands, Eldin Valley, and Mt. Crenel, but most prominent of all them is the imposing Death Mountain.

It is said that they once featured a second volcano from which their name derived, but nearly 150 years ago, a catastrophe of some sort resulted in its destruction and the two mountains fused into one monster volcano.

Welcome to the Character Lounge, where all this is possible. Here, you can have fun without consequences. However, your characters are still bound to their application (with slight lenience for silliness of course!) and the other site rules.
