Physical Appearance
The spirit of the hero reborn anew, Link displays the long ears of a Hylian, parted hair, and loose-hanging sideburns as her predecessors before her. She otherwise appears as a black Hylian, very obviously well-fit and trained for battle. Her eyes shimmer with the life of a vibrant seafoam green and you'll usually find her with her strawberry-blonde hair styled in a side-parted undercut. Well, that is if you can get a good look at her hair at all underneath the hood of her Champions' Tunic.
Recognized as the legendary hero reincarnated and selected as the Champion of Hyrule Kingdom, Link dons a version of the Champions' Tunic uniquely modified with the Hero's Clothes of her lineage in mind. Her variant of the tunic consists of a dark brown blouse and trousers, chain mail, blue Champions' Tunic, and forest green Hylian Poncho emblazoned with shimmering blue designs– their appearances based upon the Master Sword itself –upon the cape and hood that mark her as the Champion of Hyrule Kingdom. She usually carries her Hylian shield on her person, hidden beneath the cape of her poncho, and keeps the Master Sword secure at her hip.
Background
Link comes from a family with a long history with roles in the Hylian Army. Ever since the days of the Twilight and Shadow Eras, her family has been active participants in the kingdom's military, serving as soldiers and knights loyal to the crown, and even now with her this tradition continues. Starting from a young age, she enjoyed swordplay, watching her parents both spar with her grandparents, attending martial games held by the kingdom, and even practicing the wooden sword with other children in town.
They were a close and proud and strong family, dedicating their lives to one another and those around them. They were always there to help protect and serve those around them, volunteering locally and even traveling around the kingdom. Even into her youth, Link showed a strong interest in fighting, and as her father and father's father had done, she joined the Hyrulean military.
Once a member of the army, her experience and natural skills were quickly made known. Still, despite her talent, she chose to follow alongside her peers, refusing to move ahead of them early and stuck to them like family. Still, once she had truly joined the military, and as the years drew on, she began to feel something was lacking in her life. It felt as though her actions were stagnating. Of course, she was happy to be with her family in arms, but as she progressed through the ranks, she came to feel that was all she was doing. She was simply ranking up, almost mindlessly following in her family's footsteps, and she soon began to feel dissatisfied.
So Link sought to bring her life onto a new path, one for herself, and it was then, as one of the pilgrimages that took place in Hyrule approached, that Link decided she would participate in it as well; this pilgrimage that took place once every three years was a kingdom-wide event that brought people from all across the kingdom to travel to the Great Hyrule Forest north of the kingdom in search of the legendary blade– the Master Sword –in hopes that one of those who found it would be able to pull the weapon from its pedestal.
Having become a Hylian Knight stationed in Rauru Village, she was already placed very close to the destination of her journey, and so she merely had to await the Day of the Hero, when the March of Time would play through the streets. When the day finally came, she began her journey into the woods. She journeyed deep into the forest. Long did she walk and many times did she think she had surely gotten lost, but eventually she found herself alone, deep within the heart of the woods...
...Nearly the entirety of the day passed before she was seen again. Most all others that had come in search of the sword had given up. Others had gotten lost in the woods, only to find themselves having returned to the entrance. Only Link remained gone, until the dawn of the next day. When the sun rose on that day, she finally returned. At her waist hung a long unseen scabbard.
It didn't take long for news of the new wielder of the Master Sword to reach the King of Hyrule and when it did Link was called privately to the castle. Once there, she was spoken to by the kingdom's ruler. He addressed her directly, telling her of a secret mission that had been underway, one for which they sought champions from across the realm to serve the land and help protect it from evil, and he requested that she take up the mantle of Champion of the kingdom. She was told that a true formal dubbing would wait till a day when their search had further progressed and more such champions had been selected, but she could hardly dare to refuse such a proposition. Not for any offer in the world could she refuse to serve her kingdom nor the world.
And so she was gifted with a tunic in the name of the Heroes of the past and so the Champion of Hyrule was chosen.
Relevance
Link serves the crown of Hyrule as its Hylian Champion and is the reincarnation of the Spirit of the Hero reborn.
Skill Set
A warrior from a family whose history is tied not only to the Hylian Knights but with the Heroes of Legend themselves, Link trained from a young age in the art of combat. While she is primarily skilled with bladed melee weapons– having even been taught hidden skills and secret parrying techniques passed down through her family –and bows, she is easily able to pick up just about any weapon and learn how to use it with a level of proficiency.
She was also trained by her parents in the basics of first aid and how to handle living off the wild, away from civilization, should the need ever arise.
Champion Skill ~Link's Flurry Rush~
Her own combat prowess aside, Link additionally wields a uniquely powerful Champion Skill called the Flurry Rush.Through the use of this skill, she may enhance her reactions and speed beyond human limits in order retaliate upon her foes with a flurry of impossibly fast attacks. She may activate the Flurry Rush in combination with melee weapons upon successfully dodging or performing a Perfect Shield Attack or with her bow whilst in the air.
Of course, using the Flurry Rush can be very draining on the body, so excessive usage of it in a short period of time can be extremely exhausting.
Champion Weapon: The Master Sword
Additionally, as the Champion of Hyrule Kingdom and the destined hero pure of heart and strong of spirit, she has been chosen by the spirit of the sacred sword as the wielder of the Sword That Seals the Darkness. Though Link is well adept at using just about any weapon, the Master Sword itself is to serve as her signature weapon. The sword was forged long ago under the sacred flames of the Golden Goddesses and blessed by the holy power of the Goddess Hylia, but its blade seems to have dulled in the years since its last use. Its sacred power may return to it in the presence of the purest of evils, but it is presently little more than an ordinary (if ornate) arming sword.
