The Siege of Thorodan's Lair
As the siege upon the Vile Thorodan's lair mounted, the vile dragon's forces fought back against those of the Allied Forces, those of Hyrule, Froshemdel, Crusade, Gerudo, Zora, and Gorons. Their strength was greatly enhanced by the might of the dragon's own false sages and their own by the power held by Thorodan. However, even in their 'divine' might, the efforts of the sages and their forces could not hold back the fury of the Light World.
The combined forces of the realm fought back with all their strength, tearing back at the Darkness shrouding the land. The tides of the conflict between light and dark only continued to shift as the dragon's own forces turned on him, the leader of the Dragonflight Riders striking upon the vile sages with her own power. And soon the vile forces began to fall, sages facing retreat, capture, or death. Steadily, the heroes made their way closer and closer to the heart of the dragon's nest.
Rescue of the Divine Acolyte
Meanwhile, the within the heart of the battle, a rescue operation was underway. Having barely managed to escape from a realm beyond their own, a trio of travelers joined by the Sage of Forest broke their way into the shadowed city. With one of their own poisoned by an infamous assassin of Thorodan's command, they chased down the culprit in an attempt to take the antidote to save their companion.
In confronting the assassin, they found he refused to be reasoned with and so were forced to engage him. With the dormant power of a great warrior, ancient skills from one in the long lost past, and powers of the Sage at their side, they fought back against their foe until he was struck down. But when faced with the demand to be slain, the heroes merely took the antidote they sought and retreated with their ailing companion to leave the man in his misery till the battle's end came.
Confrontation of the Vile One
Having made their way past the sages, the denizens of Light continued onward to Thorodan. A party of heroes in particular strove to reach the Vile One before all others. Supported by those Champions which were chosen by the Gods, their leader sought to confront and attempt to reason with the wyrm. Upon meeting him though, he enacted the final piece to his plan, laying claim to the Crest of Courage and assembling the complete Triforce.
With the holy relic now his to command, the dragon ascended to become the true Master of the Light World. With the power of the gods now his, he called upon it to unleash his desires upon the world:
At the End of the Night
And yet even with the Triforce, with the power to rival the gods, it seemed that his authority would be challenged yet still. As if having heard the prayers of their people, observed the efforts of their Champions, and the perseverance of the strong-hearted, the gods themselves responded to Thorodan's demands, challenging him with their own power.
The power of the gods, the power of the Triforce, shone with the incredible power of the Golden Goddesses, unleashing the power behind the wish of Master of the Realm. From beyond the infinite veil of the Darkest Night, the endless shards of the world shone, an endless puzzle of light glittering and shining upon the world. The curtain on the vile shadow had been drawn, the window into the worlds beyond repaired, and from the skies above came a great downpour.
Delivery from Danger
With the battle come to an end and the world's existence drawing to a close, those serving as Disciples of Hylia then appeared, called forth to serve at the behest of Her Grace the Goddess and provide the ruler of the fallen kingdom with their assistance.
The end of the world was nigh and so those that survived the battle for the realm were given two options. Those that remained were allowed to stay behind in the Light World and with their strength, build the fallen world anew, and those who chose to follow in the steps of the disciples into salvation were allowed into a new age, in a world beyond their own, one where the world would be new and flourishing.

For it was the dragon's wish that the world come to an end.
For it was the dragon's command that the gods be banished from their own realm.
For it was the dragon's desire that those that ruled would rule by their own power, by no favors of the gods.

The curtain on the vile shadow had been drawn, the window into the worlds beyond repaired, and from the skies above came a great downpour.
So came the rain. And it rained. It rained as though it would never end.
A rain to end the world. To wash away all that was ever known.
A rain to end the world. To wash away all that was ever known.
The great wyrm, in his despair, for all his efforts to have come fruitless after the depth of his efforts, unleashed a terrible roaring laugh. In desperation, the terrible sorcerer prepared to unleash his final fury upon the remains of the world; yet before he could, a youth called to him garnering his attention, and when she indicated the remains of the realm, asked him to recall his desire. An end to the world, a world without gods, one where the people would rise up by the strength of their own will, and that perhaps this world the gods had chosen to forgo, perhaps it was a chance to provide such an opportunity.
The great dragon then stood by her and stared out upon the drowning realm. Perhaps it were so.

So they chose.
