The western front would have to endure the assaults of the combined might of Froshemdel's forces and the Gerudo. However, the fields seemed warped by magic, as the armies arrived to a sandy battlefield. Even though it was under the perpetual night, it was not cold. Rather, it felt warm as if one was baking under the desert's midday sun.
Rogue Gerudo cavalry stood alongside Thorodan's forces, Soldiers and Archers making this front less magically inclined, at least at first glance.
Leading the Western Forces were two of Thorodan's most insidious sages.

Next to the Gerudo and their cavalry, Iamar looked diminutive. But anyone who knew her, knew that she was not one to be trifled with. The sand of the desert was natural terrain to her. The heat bearing down on her, even in this night, felt like a second skin. Despite her being in the now-unfamiliar territory of Hyrule, she was still in her element. Iamar glared at the enemy line, looking for Salena. She had a score to settle with her. And if all went well, this battle would end with her shamshir lopping the False Sage's head off of her shoulders. But in the meantime, she would end as many lives as she could. Her blade had served her well for more than a decade. It would continue to do so in this battle.

Princess Siuan Valfross. It was a name and title she had yet to grown accustomed to. It sounded wrong in her ears, but it was who she was.
Sitting on a horse, overlooking the battlefield, Siuan took a deep breath and then closed her eyes. She was back in Hyrule. The place that had been her home for so many years yet now it felt like a foreign country (which it technically was). Opening her eyes again she looked down at her left arm, covered by a glove. From afar it looked like any ordinary arm, but up close it was very clear her arm was metallic in origin although it functioned EXACTLY like a regular arm, and she couldn't help but let out a tiny little smile as she flexed the fingers one at a time.
She raised her glance once more, her smile faltering. She had put her past behind her, but there was ONE final thing she had to deal with in order to achieve true harmony, to be truly at peace. 'Rah..', she thought. Over the course of her journey her feelings for the wraith had all but disappeared, and while she felt a pang of guilt for it she felt more sadness, even pity, for the creature that was out there, but she was not entirely certain if she could bring herself to fight the other woman. She HAD to do it to achieve inner peace, but could she? There was only one way to find out and that was confronting Rah, confronting her past.
She looked over her shoulder at the army behind her. War. No matter what she did, it seemed war was the inevitability she could not run from. She had started practicing with Life's Order every morning, and her newly-obtained magical powers had taken some getting used to. It was an odd feeling, the surge of magic coursing through her body, and it was kind of ironic she had always been envious of those she called 'Meta-humans', only to discover she was one herself all along.
A lifetime ago, her mentor Vorgath Tygon, a name she had almost forgotten, had told her to practice until the sword was like an extension of her arm, and while she was still a little rusty she was certain she could hold her own against any foe, maybe even the enemy commanders.
Her gaze now raised towards the sky, where she watched the Dragon that was Anna. The ice around Siuan's heart had melted and she had allowed herself to love again. The light that had burned for Rah once had faltered, and now shone brighter than anything she had ever felt for the woman fighting above. She knew that woman was her soulmate, they were meant to be, and as she saw the woman approaching HER battle, she knew what she fought for. Not for Hyrule, maybe not even for Froshemdel or the civilians. She fought so that there could be a tomorrow for her and Anna, and she promised herself that if they both survived this, she would take the other woman somewhere secluded and confess her feelings.
Snapping back to reality, she grunted. Her daydreams could wait, the battle was approaching. Even though it hadn't quite begun yet, she could feel the smell of death in the air, and the battlefield was unfamiliar territory. She had only been to the Gerudo Desert twice in her life, as a young apprentice in another life. Unfamiliar territory or not, she would fight until her body refused to move anymore, regardless of what obstacle was put infront of her.
Her horse was impatiently scratching his hoof in the sand, itching to move. She leaned down and patted the creature on the side of his head. "I know, boy", she said calmly. "I feel antsy too, but we can't charge in quite just yet. Just wait a little longer, okay?". Once more she looked at the soldiers behind her. She did not know how many of these men and women she would send to their deaths, but she would regret every single one of them. What was it her mentor Dahnguira had said again? 'To truly control your feelings in battle, your mind must simultaneously be still as the water, fierce as the fire, stoic as the earth and swift as the wind. Be like this, and your enemies shall fall in droves around you'.
With those words echoing in her head, her gaze hardened as she looked out over the Horizon. Rah was out there somewhere. Siuan would find her and stop her, so she could finally put her past behind her.

The Sage of Spirit sat upon his steed, his Gerudo Stallion, looking onward toward the city ahead. He was accompanied by his many sisters, those that the False Sage had failed to place her hands upon, those who remained loyal to the Goddess and the true spirit she represented. They had come from the desert under a single unified banner; all the tribes, from Gerudo Valley to the Desert of Mystery, had rode forth together, side by side with the people of Hyrule.
It was little more than a year ago that the desert peoples had found themselves at the Hylians' sides in the same way they stood by their side now. And now once again, they rode forth to the aid of Hyrule. But no, this was not just for their newfound allies in the land of green or their dutiful protection of the Light World. There was a personal sense of animosity the Gerudo held against Thorodan. He had fed them words dipped in the poison of betrayal, cast his gaze down upon them in disgrace of their pride, nuzzled his claw by their throats.
They were a people who never took kindly to being played, and their fury would be known.
Others of course, had made themselves known, since the Gerudos' arrival upon the western front. Only days before, so Naside had presumed, they had taken note of the arrival of foreigners. People of the far north, led by one of their leaders. There was so much more to the story, so easily was it noted as when a commander of Hyrule was escorted between camps southwards, but what tales there were to be told, they were those to be spoken of in a future time. A time when bards would write the tales of those that led to the demise of the Vile One.
Now was the end of this all.
The Sage's eyes followed Chief Graldion as she moved along down the lines of the Gerudo cavalry's ranks, nearly all of which were mounted highly upon mountainous steeds. Archers, duelers, glaiviers, Iron Knuckles... There had been witches as well, but they had been called to hold back, having spent much of their magic reserves on imbuing the elements into many of the soldiers' weapons. Then there were the outliers. The Hylian soldiers among them. The few Gerudo scouts, as Iamar was. Lyllith.
And then there was Naside himself, the Sage. He took in a deep breath, eyes shifting to rest upon the dark city ahead. Salena. Always had he been at odds with her, even in the past, and now the two of them truly stood on opposite ends of the battlefield to face one another. Sage against Sage.
He gives his helmet one final adjustment and secured it in place. There was more to this than the woman's simple treachery, that much he knew, but whether or not she could be saved from the fate that had been placed upon her was another story. He tightens his hold on his axe. It would be his goal to relinquish her control over as many their vehvi as possible, and if he could salvage her from Thorodan's clutches as well, all the better.
But no war was easy.

Rah looked over the battlefield and pouted. "Hmm...seems this battle will have its own sad little twists." She looked over at the Gerudo sage. "So, Sally do you think--"
Salena glared at the wraith, raising her sword to Rah's throat. "We may be on the same side, wraith. But you are better off not presuming friendship. Thorodan assigned us to defend this front. That is what I shall do. If you become a problem, you will be dealt with."
Rah frowned. "I'll have you know I worked for Thorodan long before you. But fine! You don't want to be friends, whatever. No cake for you when we win." She stuck out her tongue to Salena and conjured her trident staff.
The false sage of spirit ignored Rah and signaled for her forces to hold. "Let them charge in first. We have no reason to go to them."

((I spoke to Devixer, he/she said I could skip him/her, since Iamar isn't doing much until the battle begins))
Siuan, still lost in thought, felt the tension rising. The time for the charge was drawing near, and she could feel the anxiety building among the soldiers around them. Although she wasn't one for speeches, she realized it was time for one. The army needed to hear the truth, they needed to know what lie before them, and that Siuan was with them. It was her job to lead the charge, and she could not show a single sign of doubt.
Luckily, she felt no doubt. She HAD to do this, to put her past behind her, and IF she died here, at least she would die fighting for what she thought was right.
She cleared her throat and rode to the front of the army. Feeling everyone's eyes on her (even the eyes of the Gerudo, which techincally wasn't HER army), and a twinge of nervousness washed over her, but disappeared the moment she began to speak.
*Ahem* "Soldiers of Froshemdel! If there is any among you who do not know who I am, I am Princess Siuan Valfross, and I am your assigned commander in the upcoming battle. Some of you might se me as a usurper, someone who just swooped in and out of nowhere came to be in a position of power. Know this: I don't care about my title, what I care about is ridding this realm, Hyrule, of this ancient evil, both beccause it is the right thing to do, and because if we don't beat Thorodan and his lackeys here, he will come for Froshemdel next".
She took a deep breath. She had no idea if it was going well or horribly wrong, but she had reached the point of no return, and all she could do was to go on. "Before me I see men and women ready to fight for Froshemdel. Warrior, magicians, archers, people of all vocations ready to repel evil wherever it shows its ugly head. Know that I am the same. I am willing to fight, and die for Froshemdel. Speaking of that.. I am not going to lie, many of you will die in this upcoming conflict, as is the inevitability of war. There will be casualities, there will be those of you here who will never see your homeland again. Take solace in this, then. Even if you do not survive, know that you are fighting for a brighter tomorrow, a tomorrow where your family, your friends and loved ones can live in peace and harmony, free from the shackles of tyrants such as the wyrm, Thorodan".
She studied the army infront of her. Some of them were wriggling nervously, others were looking proud. "If anyone of you wish to leave and not participate in the fight, feel free to do so now. I will understand, and I will not judge you. However, all of those who fight alongside me will be honored as a hero of Froshemdel. Stand with me, warriors of Froshemdel, fight and die alongside with me, and together we will make our foes tremble at the very sight of us! Let us all make this a battle that bards will sing epic songs about for eons to come!".
She raised her sword above her head, and the warriors of Froshemdel roared in unison, fueling all their passion, anxiety and excitement into it.
She turned to the Gerudo standing among them. "Honorable warriors of the Gerudo. Your martial prowess is unmatched in all of Hyrule, and I am humbled that you fight by our side. While I do not command you, I ask you, nay, I PLEAD to you, stand with me against the darkness, and unleash upon them your full ferocity!"
She turned around, now facing the battlefield, her sword still held above her head. "I may not have proven myself worthy of being your princess yet, people of Froshemdel, but known that I would fight, and die, by the side of each and every one of you, as if you were my brother or sister. Ride with me now, and together we shall destroy the any foe put before us!".
Closing her eyes, she thought 'please let this work', as she lowered her sword forward and roared, as loud as her lounges could muster. "CHAAARGE!".For a split second, there was silence, and Siuan's heart skipped a beat, she would look like an idiot if she yelled charged and nobody moved, but then, a roar pierced the air as all the soldiers stormed forth as one, like a tidal wave of death and steel.
Siuan opened her eyes again, a smile spreading across her face. It had worked! "Forward, brethren! For Froshemdel!"

Iamar grew restless as Siuan spoke. She was not here to listen to tiring speeches of heroism and honor. Such terms held no meaning to her. No, she was here to kill the enemies. Her enemies, the Gerudo's enemies, the desert's enemies. All would fall before her blade. She needed no other justification, and these soldiers and royals obsessed with etching their name in history made her sick.
As the cavalry forces of Froshemdel charged, Iamar waited. If she charged alongside the cavalry, she would most likely be trampled - not the end she sought by any means. And besides, she wasn't here for the rank and file - she was here for the traitor. Anyone else was just another obstacle to cut down.
Once most of the cavaliers made their way forward, Iamar began to move as well. With luck, she could take advantage of the chaos of the battle to slip her way through the line and straight to Salena.

Off in the distance, he could hear the leader of the Froshemdel forces calling out to her people as well. Naside couldn't pick up most of what she was speaking until she drew closer to speak to the Gerudo as well. It seemed that Chief Graldion too was moving off toward the Lokomo forces to exchange words with them as well, almost as if to balance the act that Siuan was leading. The Gerudo's words were brief and succinct in contrast to Siuan's speech.
Of course, there was no concern that the desert warriors would refuse to fight now. They were just as involved in this as the Lokomo, if not even more so. There was much at stake, and their pride led them to strike back at last. All the same, the cavalry– Naside included –raised their weapons above their head in support of the princess and solidarity with their northern allies.
And then he turned his attention forward once more toward the town walls. The sounds of the two leaders' commands echoes across the western battlefront and all at once they moved on to their enemy, the powerful war cries of the Gerudo raising and joining those of the Lokomo and Phantoms and forward they rode toward the enemy.
Behind the cavalry, the legions of Gerudo archers moved forward as well, though keeping their distance from the core of the battlefield and prepared their initial aim at the enemy.
