Name: Malantur Eithorn
Species: Hylian
Age: Young but not too young.
Gender: Male
Physical Appearance: A Hylian clad in silvery zoran armor, with colors and adornments refitted for discreet woodlands traversal, and a cloak covering the back. Malantur has long straight platinum blonde hair and green eyes. He wears a silver mask with fine points on both sides, reminiscent of antlers. He is taller than the average Hylian, but not overly so. Though the armor evokes the more refined aspects of his noble heritage, the rest of Malantur's gear reflects a more practical aspect, and his posture is more pragmatic rather than practiced and embellished.

Background:
Born into a life of duty to the wilds, Malantur is the heir and remaining member of his noble household, that has for generations watched over the region of Hyrule Ridge. In his younger years, he would travel the land with his parents, carrying their excess equipment and preparing meals with what was foraged or hunted on a particular day.
During the summers, when the weather in Hebra was more forgiving, he would go to the Rito and be mentored in the way of the bow. In spring, he would travel the mountains on the Hylian side of the canyon, and help chart and mark down dangerous trails and landslide risks during the rainy season. Through fall and winter he was taught the harsher aspects of survival in the wilderness, and how to plan ahead for the change of the seasons.
His travels to the capital were very few and far between. To him, the cities always seemed overcrowded, too distant from the vast expanses he knew. Business would be carried out swiftly, and soon he would be on the road again.
With time, his duties grew as his parents aged. They began to seek out more idyllic routines as he took the burden of watching over the province, and coordinating patrols and meetings with the other rangers. It was a natural process, but not without its trials. His displeasure in it was taking on the noble responsibilities. Having to report to the crown, no matter how scarcely, was an ordeal to him. If the city was detached enough from the realm, then the court itself was a reality all of its own. A den of predatory gazes and beasts prowling in the shadows. Malantur always had a personal fear and contempt for the hidden hands of the royal family, the Sheikah.
To him, he could understand the need for discreet and watchful protectors of the realm. But the sheikah seemed a bit too comfortable with carrying out this purpose. To Malantur, though the king may well be the glorious Lynel standing high upon his perch gazing at all that is his, the sheikah were a fiercer beast prowling in its shadow, able to fell the mighty beast yet choosing not to, biding the time for the one pounce that would slay the lynel without a struggle.
His natural suspicion of them only grew with time. He had been through much of Hyrule, met many of its people, shared stories and learned their ways, learned of perspectives he could never conceive on his own. Yet they were the outliers, the ones isolated and secretive. Though bound by duty to watch over the ridgelands, Malantur also made his mission to watch over the Sheikah. For who watches those who watch from the shadows? Certainly someone had to do so.
Without forsaking his obligations, he began to keep track of their activities through the realm. Sometimes innocuous observations, sightings, local rumors and even the occasional hearsay.
With the rise in civil unrest, and the crown's somewhat lofty response to the brewing crisis, Malantur seemed to believe that something more sinister was afoot, stirring under the surface, and he had a hunch of who could be to blame. Finding it his duty to the realm to get to the bottom of this mystery, the lord of the ridgelands set about on a quest to gather allies from all corners of the land, and unite them in his purpose, his hunt for truth...
Relevance: As one of the few well-intentioned nobles within the current state of affairs in the kingdom, Malantur is the one most suspicious of the dealings of the Sheikah, and what they do 'in service to the kingdom'. Too mistrusting to blindly side with the crown, and too loyal to the realm to see benefit in a rebellion, Malantur spearheads a third faction, with the intent to look past the current situation and discover the terrible secrets that lie in the shadows...
Skill Set:
Thunderstruck
Rather than diversify the type of arrows, and utilize each for a specific situation, Malantur chose the path of mastering the usage of shock arrows, from the making of the special arrowheads to the very moment he lets them loose from his bows. What little magic the lord knows is purely related to this aspect of fletching.
Shoot to Thrill
Mastering a single kind of arrow means being able to use it in any conceivable scenario, which includes improvised usage in a dire moment, but more specifically, the ability to fire them wielding any sort of bow. Malantur has a preference for three kinds of bows, that he rarely sets out from his lodge without;
A Falcon Bow, earned from years of training the art of the bow with the Rito. Known for its reliability, precision and most importantly, superior range, it is the bow chosen for striking the furthest of targets.
A Forest Dweller's Bow, an enchanted weapon carrying the spirit of the forest itself, useful for its rare ability to enable the marksman to fire multiple arrows at once without being overly taxing or losing too much accuracy.
A Royal Bow, its sturdy use of metals and reinforced bowstring allows the user to fire arrows with more power behind the shot, improving the armor piercing capacity of the shot.
No Man's Land
Malantur has a special bond with the land itself. Having gone to the edge of the wilds and back again, he is one of few who could truly say he knows the land of Hyrule. As such, he knows many pathways and routes that others would not, and knows how to survive in the wilderness. Which beasts live in which region, the signs of weather changes and the phases of the moon. Though the lands beyond may elude him, Malantur will always find his way in the wilds.
Wild Reputation
Known from Hebra to Zorana, the lord of the ridgelands has made friends with all kinds who live in the realm. Where nobles mingle amongst their own, Malantur has met the actual people who live in Hyrule, and made many friends (and enemies) in his many adventures on the realm. Given the state of the province he was entrusted with, his reputation in the courts is certainly less than stellar, especially for one so happily absent from gatherings, speeches and parades. More often than not, Malantur has to go out of his way to prove to the higher ups in the cities and larger towns that he is who he claims to be.
Back in-- Silver
Malantur's silver armor is worn for practical reasons, worth well the loss in his ability to conceal himself fully in the wilds thanks to its glittering sheen being troublesome in some circumstances. The zora-crafted armor is extremely durable and most importantly, light and waterproof, enabling him to endure rainy weather and trudge through swamps, marshlands and flooded terrain with little issue, and even swim across rivers and lakes with little hindrance to his mobility. Though far from capable as an actual Zora when it comes to swimming, the armor set affords him the versatility that other Hylians could only hope for.
What makes his set unique among others, however, is the addition of a quiver that can be fully sealed to allow him to carry his arrows in watery terrain without risk to himself or others.
