Name: Eleanora "Nora" Wardwell
Species: Human
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Physical Appearance: Eleanora stands roughly 1.60m tall (5'2), with pale skin except around her slightly long nose and her cheeks, where the skin is a deep red. She has freckles and relatively large lips, which results in some people finding her ugly, like witches tend to be in the stories of old, while others find her somewhat unusual appearance attractive and she has been described as having sort of a "wild beauty" about her.
She has almost waist-lenght dark brown hair, and greyish-white eyes. She wears a light-purple, pinkish witch hat adorned with a flower-wreath, and the hat combines with, and extends down into a scarf covering her throat, allowing her to hide her face so only her eyes are visible if she so wishes, as well as funtioning as sort of a cloak. Most of her gear is torn and worn, like her sleeveless, crimson tunic, and the dark purple-ish blue bandage covering her left arm.
On top of the aforementioned tunic she wears a light chainmail tunic, to offer some sort of protection against weapons. On her waist she wears a deep-red tasset, held in place with a yellow-and-black belt. On her lower body she wears a pair of beige-grey baggy pants, that have been patched several times, as well as a pair of pointed, purple shoes.
Background: Eleanora grew up in the Great Hyrule Forest, close to the lost woods. She never knew her father but her mother was a witch and therefore Eleanora grew up to be one as well. She was a wild child, exploring the forest for wild berries, roots and bugs in the day, and praciticed to be a witch at night. She was often muddy and covered in dirt and grime with twigs in her hair, and she wasn't necessarily very clean. There were few other kids around her, but those she met often saw her as that "Weird girl from the woods with twigs in her hair that eats bugs". Her mother was a novice witch with limited skills, so when Eleanora was old enough her mother sent her to train under her old mentor, Erin Shander, who lived even deeper and even more secluded in the woods.
Eleanora went to study under the old witch and rapidly became one of her bests students, grasping the aspects of the ancient magics very quickly, as well as learning the value of helping others, and not use their magic for wickedness. When her studies were considered complete, she moved back home to the forest again, only to learn that her mother had fallen ill, and because of this she had not managed to defend herself against a roaming band of monsters. She managed to find her mothers remains and bury them, casting a spell over the spot, and a year later a beautiful tree grew over the grave as a memory of the woman who brought her up.
She spent the following years living a secluded, peaceful life in the forest, until one day a bunch of adventurers showed up at her hut. They had a wounded friend with them, and knew nothing else but to go to the "mysterious witch in the woods". Eleanora chuckled softly that she had earned such a reputation already, and agreed to help the wounded man. The adventurers had no way to repay her for her help, except that one of them invited her to come to his party in Hyrule Castle Town. Eleanora laughed. Her? In the big city? The thought was outrageous, but when she realized he was serious, she was flattered by the offer, and decided to accept.
She traveled with them to the big city and as they arrived, she marveled at the sight but she also noticed the poverty, how sick people suffered, and the adventurers told her how the crown did not provide enough medicine and food to the sick and the homeless. She went to this party but left not long after it had begun, not being used to other people, and being VERY socially awkward, so the more upper society people got on her nerves, and she on theirs. She thanked the wounded man she had helped for showing her the big city and just as she was about to leave, he told her he had brought her with him to show her the suffering of the poor people of the city, the despair they suffered at the hands of the crown. He asked if she wanted to help them with their cause to improve people's lives, and if she was interested, she could join them in the Loshlo Harbor.
Said and done. Eleanora went back home, packed up her belongings and relocated to the harbor, where she now resides to provide the rebels with potions, charms, curses and whatever her skills can assist with.
Now that a few years have passed, she has learned more of what the situation is ACTUALLY like, but she is still with the rebellion, believing they are more eager to look out for the sick and injured, and provide shelter and medicine for them.
Relevance: Eleanora is actually quite relevant to the story. She functions as the resident potion- and medicine-maker for the rebels, as well as assisting with what other spells she has in her kit. This makes her a valuable asset to the rebels, and given her lack of combat experience, preferring to use her magic to disorient, confuse and escape, she is an asset the rebels would want to protect.
Skill Set:
Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble!
Eleanora is a witch, and as such she brews potions, elixirs, stews and soups. She can brew up medicine, as well as green, red and blue potions among other alchemical concoctions. She can make elixirs that makes the imbiber quicker, makes them resistant to heat and cold, that makes the imbibers footsteps silent, makes them more resilient, and a lot of other things, as well as brew up love potions and potions that alters someones appearance.. At least temporarily. She also has knowledge of herbology, mushrooms, berries and roots that helps with ailments, which ones are poisonous and which ones are edbile and such.
Your worries will go from bad to worse, from this day on, you shall know my curse!
Eleanora dabbles in the magics of old, and such she can place curses on people, as long as she has something that belongs to the victim. Toenail clippings, a lock of hair or something similar. This ability is purely for RP and storytelling purposes, but her curses varies from transformations (like Majora does to Link) to bad luck to being attacked by small animals whenever you go outside, to anything in between, determined in-game with the target. The laws of ancient magics dictactes that she must write down the ways to lift the curse before she can cast it, and it can vary from kissing a prince in the moonlight to bathing in a tub of rose petals by a riverside, or something similar.
Smoke and mirrors, a trick on your mind! Befuddle, bedazzle, confuse and blind!
Eleanora is not really the type of spellcaster who throws fireballs, lightning bolts and teleport mountains. Instead her magic takes a more old-fashioned form. This results in her not being a very powerful fighter, preferring to use smokescreens, illusions, mirror images, animate nearby objects, conjure swarms of bees and small animals to defend herself so she can make a safe escape. She can teleport short distances and cover areas in smoke or fog, as well as charm her opponents and blind them with her magic. Her magic also allows her to talk to, and understand animals, especially cats and bats, as well as disguise herself by changing her appearance. She also knows limited scrying magic, allowing her to view locations she has previously visited or seen, and communicate with people at long distances via her cauldron. Her scrying magic has the limitation that she requires a cooking pot or a cauldron for it to work.
I craft for you a magic charm, all it will cost is a leg and an arm!
Even though she dabbles in curses, she also knows how to counteract them. Eleanora can create protective charms, fetishes and objects, as well as enchant gear with magical properties. She can makes charms that protects against certain elements or types of magic, that enhances certain properties, and whatever is decided in-game upon creation of a charm.
Equipment/possessions: Eleanora owns an enchanted broom she has made herself. Needless to say it's a flying broom and she uses it to get around Hyrule in style! She also owns a cauldron, a teapot and a black cat by the name of Grimalkin, and he is a very good kitty!
Misc: Imagine everthing she says is said in a rather thick british accent, a little thicker than that of Zelda in BOTW, but her voice is a little more hoarse and deep.
