*From the "A village in Peril" topic*
Aeshra emerged from her office out into the streets. It was a quiet afternoon and although people were doing their regular things, there was an atmosphere of fear over the whole village. The Countess noted all demonic inhabitants were getting strange or even fearful gazes from the other citizens, and as she walked down the street, she noticed people staring at HER the same way.
They weren't wrong, as any demon was currently dangerous, but Aeshra couldn't help to feel anger and frustration at the situation. Her bodyguard followed close behind her, the shackles at the ready if she were to succumb to rage. Was this what she had become? A prisoner in her own village?
She walked down the street and into a house that was blocked off from public acess by the village guards, all non-demons for the time being. This house was the first private dwelling where a demon had succumbed to rage, and every able-bodied soldier in the village was currently investigating it.
She approached the nearest guard and spoke. "Hail. Anything to report?".

As she made her way into the home, the guards present at the scene each held up fists to their chests momentarily, each giving her her proper respect. All the same, they each held a level of wariness about them, all too aware of the current situation. They had to keep their wits about them.
The one that she approached looked up to her, but then shook their head. "No good news yet, Lady Aeshra. Not insofar as our investigation's told us at least. Apart from the damage to the house," they indicated at the gashes and scorch marks about the room, "we en't found anything amiss. We've had belongings moved away from the site, but till we hear back from the capital fer yer request fer a Hylian magician, we've not anyone that can safely determine whether or not any of the evidence's been magicked up." The guard rubbed the side of his face tiredly.
"Ragel, don't forget about the Crusaders," one of the others at the edge of the room said.
The first nodded with a small grunt. "Aye, there's them as well. Group o' three wearing the banner o' the Crusade arrived outside Felbrook earlier this afternoon. Cap'n Farth met 'em at the gates and asked 'em to stay camped out there till she was able to get your word. But I heard ye've kept yerself locked indoors till now, so I s'pose she en't had chance to meet with ye yet."

Aeshra listened to the guards deliver their report, and the further they went on, the more surprised she was. She wasn't surprised to learn the guards had found nothing. Why would there be a source of the curse here, in some random house? What DID surprise her though was the arrival of Crusaders to her town without her even getting as much as a letter.
Frowning, the Countess spoke. "The Crusaders..? At the gates?". She wasn't too keen on the Crusaders just popping up out of nowhere like that, but then again, she preferred that over the BORING process that was Bueraucracy, where they'd have to send a letter, she'd reply, they send a response, book an appointment, blah blah blah, Aeshra almost got a headache just thinking about it.
"I will go see them, then". Carric quickly took his place next to her as the two started heading towards the gates.
She had worked with the Crusaders in the past, it was with their aid she got to meet the THEN queen Zelda, and with her aid destroy her hated enemy, Lestra, so the least she could do was give them her time and attention.
Nevertheless, at the end of the day, Aeshra only trusted herself and MAYBE Carric, so she still kept her guard up.
