Name: Thordan "Thor" Vulrkokiir
Species: Dragon
Age: 55
Gender: Male
Physical Appearance:
Background:
After the war against the dragon Thorodan, things finally calmed down. The old dragon passed away under the care of his daughter, spending his last days in the company of family. Thulana did not bring up much of her pain during this period, she worked to make certain her father did not suffer as he decided to rest. But, for the first time since the death of her son... she was able to express her own regrets and the sorrow she had bottled up for decades, even more, that her consort got the chance to grief at all for the loss of a child he never knew. This first period after the war was one of solitude and mourning, a time to reflect and try to put things back together in the way dragon does. There was very little contact with the outside world during this time, Ashe and Nesenth wanted to be alone... and they did not feel a desire to be a part of the mortal world.
Roughly 50 years ago, Ashe had an egg. It was not something they couple planned, it was never something that crossed their mind... that they would get another chance at being parents. But, they welcomed it and took great care of the egg, keeping it warm and safe. They only left the lair in order to get food, and someone always remained behind to guard the egg among the treasure trove they had.
The egg finally hatched and a male whelp was born. It was a blessing that none of them thought they had deserved. But, they were not likely to waste something given in such a way. They gave the son two names, one for his dragon heritage, and another to honour family, to symbolize a new age. Vulrkokiir was his dragon name, which in the language of dragons translated to "Dark Magus Child". Thordan was the other name they picked, too honour Thorodan. Both of his parents saw right away that he looked much like his grandfather, with similar eyes and shade on his scales. The only regret Ashe had was that Thorodan never got to meet his grandson.

The Life of a Whelp
Now Thordan's life started, and he could not have asked for better parents... at least for a baby dragon. He had everything he needed, and never lacked in food or comfort. He spent his first years rolling around in his parent's treasure trove, and it was one of the happiest times of his parent's lives. There is not much more to be said about these first years, it was simple, and Thordan learned the basics of being a dragon, quickly picking up on how to talk. He was curious and liked to ask questions about everything he heard or saw, something his parents never objected to or tried to suppress. But, they would never let him go outside of the lair without one of them to tag along, and most of his early childhood was spent inside the home, but he was still happy and never really objected to this at the time. He was also stuck in his whelp form and would remain this way until he learned how to shapeshift, which would take many years of training, training, and training.
Ashe and Nesenth gave the son lessons on how to read, and write. They told the basics of magic, and laws of how the world worked, to respect whatever prey they hunted... and understand the lessons to be learned from their family history. Ashe never was one to hide things, and she would never hide anything from her child. He learned right away what his grandfather had done, and also about the ancient war and the dragons that came before. Ashe also placed vital importance in training her son how to brew the perfect tea, something she prided herself with greatly.

Thordan spent much of his free time playing with jewels, and treasure. When he was not listening to one of his parents talk, or went out with them to the local area in order to learn how to hunt. He liked those times when he learned to fly and helped his parents take down deer or other wildlife that they would eat. It was only later that he started to have a desire to leave his life in the mountains and venture outside, but from her experience in the past, and the death of their first son, Thulana was not so lenient in risking the life of her second child. But, Thordan was very persistent in his desires and continued to pester both his parents for years... always asking on each birthday if he might get to go out on an adventure of his own. He did not manage to get far with that, but he was able to talk his mother into teaching him the art of her "Curse Tag Magic".

The magic of the Dark Magus
Thordan had just turned 50 when his life became more complicated.
When Thordan was out hunting with his father, something came out him. A sudden, and powerful, a sensation of pain that surged through his body and caused him to crash down into a nearby forest. He did do not remember exactly what transpired, but when he came to... the forest around him was dried up, and dead. What had once been a lush green forest was now a barren husk with nothing but death and decay. Dark veins had started to form around his body, most visibly around his hands, and arms. This is where his father found him, sitting in a clearing, looking at the body of a dead deer.
Nesenth and Thulana both remembered the feeling of the power they sense inside their son, it was the magic of his grandfather. But none of them knew why it had appeared inside their child, nor how they would deal with it. The only thing Thulana could do was create a special seal that would help keep the darkness in check, but it was not a permanent solution and something would have to be done about it. The question was, what? Thorodan had known how his magic worked, it was something that had been granted to him at the time of his creation, he did not go through the process of growing into a power he was created to possess from the start. Even if Nesenth had been the old dragon's apprentice and learned many things from him, this power was something more primal, a natural energy inside of the son's body. In many ways, Thor was an enigma due to how his powers manifested themselves, and the more they tried to find out, the more questions were awakened. Just ignoring it, or trying to lock the magic away, was not likely to work and would only cause further harm.
All focus now turned to teach Thor how to get an outlet for this magical energy and a way for him to somehow harness the powers. The solution because curses, one of the specialities of Thorodan that his apprentice had a little knowledge in the basics behind, even if it was not what he himself focused on, it was enough to help Thor. Curses also worked well with the lessons his mother gave him on the subject of spell tags.
After five years of training, Thor has finally managed to talk his parents into letting him go out and see the world, trying to find a way to gain more control of his powers. They were worried about him, but also knew that they could not give him the answers he needed, and the seal would only be able to protect him for so long. Even if they did not like it, there was little else they could do but let him go out and find the answers for himself. Had they tried to stop him he would have found a way to sneak away on his own, that much was clear. Maybe it was just an excuse on Thor's end? Truthfully he just saw this as an opportunity to leave, he wanted to see the world outside the mountains, and if figuring out his powers was going to help him with that, who was he to complain?
Relevance:
Thordan is the grandson of the black dragon Thorodan, he has inherited his grandfather's magic as a demon regent (even if he does not know about this yet). He also is out to find his own place in the world and could end up the pawn in more than one villain's games before the end, unless he happens upon the right kind of people. In essence, he is largely a blank slate on where the plot might take him.
Skill Set:
Skill Set:
- The body of a dragon: Even if he can take on a humanoid form, one can never forget that Thor is a dragon, and his true form is that of a black firebreathing dragon. Because of this, he possesses the ability to shed his Hylian form and become himself. As a dragon he becomes far stronger and more durable than most mortals, he also has the ability to fly and can breathe fire from his mouth. A natural drawback from being in this form is his lowered dexterity, and he also becomes a larger target for attacks.
- Secrets of Tea: Of all the things Thulana discovered as she lived among the mortals, it was how much she liked the thing they called tea. It was only natural for her to pass this knowledge along to her offspring, taking great care to teach him how to brew the perfect tea. There are few in Hyrule who so thoroughly has been instructed in the great art of... brewing tea.
- Born into Darkness: For whatever reasons the young dragon was born with the same kind of energy as the late Thorodan. Where most people seek our such power, adapt to use and master it, Thor was born with it appearing as if from nowhere. The power of the demon regent must always pass along, and it was passed on to Thor due to his ties with the grandfather. The signature of his soul is exactly like that of the late demon regent, and anyone who knew him could easily mistake them for the same person before taking time to have a closer look. At present time most of this power is locked behind a seal created by Thor's parents, keeping the darkness at bay... but it is not a perfect solution.
- With the assistance of his parents, Thor has started to develop spells similar to those his grandfather used, focused less around the offensive side, and more towards disabling opponents with debilitating curses. Such as paralysis, blindness, silence or sleep. It all comes down to a case-by-case situation. The creation of Thor's dark curses always has to follow one important rule, what has been done can be undone, meaning no matter what kind of curse he creates, it can always be broken. If he tries to make a curse without including this part, it will create its own rules for how to be broken.
