Siuan leaned into the embrace Anna was giving her, letting out a sigh of relief and joy. "Thank you, my love. If anyone objected to our love, they can take it up with me". She planted a kiss on her wife's cheek, and then listened to the woman speak of her traveling plans. "We'll go to some hot springs or some other luxurious vacation spot as soon as possible, beloved, that is a promise. I've heard there are hot springs not too far from here. As for you speaking to the leaders of each nation.. That is quite a journey, but you know I will follow you to hell and back twice over".
Taking the pot off the stove, Siuan brought out two plates. "Eat up, beloved, we need our strength for tomorrow then. If you're going as Firosk, I think I'll take my ceremonial armor. It's not quite as strong as my other one, but it's far fancier, and you know those nobles love fancy clothing and a good first impression". The samurai let out a sigh. "I AM a princess after all, so I suppose etiquette demands I dress properly". Despite being a princess, Siuan wasn't really one for fancy dresses and the stuff of courts, she preferred a sword in hand and armors.

Anna laughed a little at Siuan's concern about first impressions. "Dearest, please don't worry about ceremony and how you look. It's not as though we're going to banquets all across the land. Much as I'd enjoy that, it's best if people don't make a visit from the guardian into some event. That would invite all sorts of trouble," she said. It was better to make one simple trip, ending in her returning home to figure out what her best course of action was.
"A soak in a hot spring would be lovely. Though with my size, maybe I'll need a hot lake," Anna said with a laugh. "It may be quite the journey, dearest, but with you by my side, it will feel like a brisk walk. And if we truly are needed for more, then we will answer the call." She smiled, and took one of Siuan's plates. "But for now, let's eat, and gather our strength."

As they began eating, Siuan thoroughly enjoyed it. She had become a MUCH better cook over the years, starting out really terribly. She listened to her wife's speech about them not going to banquets and smiled. "Thank heavens. I'll pack some fancy clothing just in case, but then I'll travel with armor and weapon in hand, my favorite way to travel". When Anna mentioned needing a hot lake, she giggled. "A hot lake it is, then!", she said with a wide grin. Making an occasional pause while eating, she was collecting her thoughts, and sometimes just glancing over at her beautiful wife feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.
It would be good getting out of the mountains. As cozy as this little mountain retreat was, stretching her legs and going back out into the world would be nice. As much as she had had enough of conflict and war to last for two lifetimes, she wouldn't hesitate to leap into action if needed.
She couldn't quite tell why, but she felt that something terrible was coming, something sinister was stirring, brewing in the dark corners of Hyrule. She did her best to hide her worry and continued to enjoy her meal.

Anna was a quiet and fast eater - so long of eating on the road had given her the habit. But even so, she occasionally paused to return her wife's gaze, smiling and blushing, even after so long of their married life. She still recalled the day that she and Siuan confessed their feelings to each other, after the battle more than a hundred years ago. It had been hard building their life together, but now they had all the time in the world to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
At least, she hoped so. Her visions had troubled her greatly. The thought of someone, or something, that was darker and more powerful than even Thorodan, coming to bring ruin to Hyrule, had been a darkness over her life for days now. She needed to be on her journey, and soon.
"I'll be leaving in the morning, love," Anna said. "We should rest and gather our strength. It's gonna be cold out there," she added, with a small laugh.

The tension was tangible. Siuan could tell both of them were worried, and she guessed it was about the same thing. "..You feel it too, don't you?", she asked. "I have a bad feeling about this. I don't know what *this* IS, but I feel something is.. off with Hyrule". The samurai's gaze shifted to her sword where it stood leaned against the wall next to her side of the bed, always within reach in case of trouble. A true warrior never DID get to put the sword down, did they? Diplomacy and peace were always her first options, but there would never come a time when she could put her sword away forever.
For the longest time, Siuan had always felt inferior to those around her, she never had magic, her wife was a freaking DRAGON (which still seemed a bit surreal to her at times, but was something she never ever would regret in a million lifetimes), and there were some borderline god-like entities out there. She had however survived them all and even beaten some of them. A hundred years ago Siuan would have believed herself too weak to make a difference, now she knew better. Now her skills were honed, she had magic, and was one of the finest blade masters in this land and her homeland Froshemdel. If whatever this darkness was would be her doom, then she would meet it with her head held high and her sword in hand.
"Whatever it may be, we'll weather this storm together", she said, her voice harder now, full of determination, a telltale sign that she was steeling herself for the troubles ahead. She gently stroked Anna's hand before she went to wash up her own plate, the steely tone gone, and instead replaced with warmth and tenderness. "Leave the plate and go to sleep. You need your strength. I'll finish up here and join you shortly". She gave her wife a kiss on the forehead and went to wash her plate and the rest of the dishes.
