Name: Siuan Valfross
Species: Halfbreed (Half-Human, Half-Lokomo)
Age: 176 (appears as late twenties-early thirties)
Gender: Female
Physical Appearance:
Siuan is rather tall for a human woman, standing about 1.80m tall. She is muscular and athletically built, with long, smooth black hair in a ponytail that reaches down slightly below her waist, and if she lets it out, it reaches below her backside and kept in place with a blue hairband. Her eyes are icy blue and slightly glowing.
Princess Valfross wears a purple and white Hakama, except she wears pants instead of a skirt, as well as wearing a yellow and purple Shitagi, a sort of long coat and purple gloves.
Siuan wears a full set of armor, forged for her in Brossemont as a part of finishing her training. It consists of the following parts:
The dou (chest armour), kote (armoured sleeves), sune-ate (shin armour), and the hai-date (thigh armour). She also wears shin guards, and on her feet she wears a pair of leather boots.
Her left arm, although hidden behind armor and cloth, is a metallic prosthesis forged from one of Aethelnoth's shoulderpads and infused with magic to function like a real arm.
Background:
The story of Princess Valfross is as stormy as the powers her wife wields. Her father was murdered when she was but a babe, and she was brought to Hyrule where she was adopted by a pair of thieves. Growing up on the streets she was eventually taking into apprenticeship by a Hylian Sergeant named Vorgath Tygon. From that part on, her life was one of discipline and training. After that she arose to the rank of general, and that's when her life become one of betrayal and sadness. She was betrayed, or at least spurned, by Zelda, her first love, a spurn that almost cost her her life and broke her mentally for a while. That is when she met Rah and once again she fell in love, but was betrayed by her as well. This time the betrayal cost her an arm, and she fell into a coma for a full year. When she woke up, she was given a new chance to start everything anew, to leave her past behind and start fresh.
She promised herself she'd never fall in love again, but that was before she met Anna, a woman who broke straight through the ice wall she had wrapped around her heart and swept her off her feet. The two journeyed together to Froshemdel to learn of Siuan's true heritage, and the other woman's selflessness, kindness and loyalty melted the very ice Siuan had encased herself in. She was still slow to trust, but when the time came that Siuan learned her true heritage, that of Princess of Froshemdel, and the final battle with Thorodan was approaching, Siuan knew she had fallen in love once more, and this time she KNEW it to be mutual. After the battle against Thorodan, she realized she was lucky they both had survived, and she should have confessed her feelings properly BEFORE the fight, instead she did so now in the aftermath.
The two wed in what they thought was secret, but it wasn't long before everyone knew, making it Hyrule's worst kept secret. Some people found it weird that the dragon guardian of Hyrule married a half-breed, half human, half-lokomo, and others found it weird that someone like Siuan would marry a dragon guardian, but Siuan scolded anyone who judged her for it, they could stare and whisper all they wanted, Siuan knew what her heart desired.
The Princess of Froshemdel has always wanted to be stronger, feeling weak compared to the heroes around her. As such, she left on a soul-searching journey and met up with Dahnguira, an old acquaintance of her, who taught her how to utilize her sword, Life's Order, to its fullest, teaching her the ways of the samurai. When her training was complete, she had a suit of armor forged for her to celebrate. When she was a general, in another life, she wore heavy armor. When she awoke from the coma, she wore none, so now, she forged herself a suit of armor that allowed for good protection while still allowing good mobility. After her training was done, she returned home to her wife to journey by her side.
Relevance: Siuan remains by her wife Anna's side through thick and thin, so her relevance comes with protecing and assisting her, and while she does like Hyrule, she does not feel the same responsibility to protect it as she did when she was Zelda's bodyguard over a century ago. Seeing, however, as Hyrule is where she lives with her beloved now, she does not want it to fall, and if the Hylians need her blade, she will aid them.
Skill Set:
Fighting Style: Way of the Samurai
Siuan has adopted the way of the Samurai, using Life's Order as her primary weapon. Due to this her fighting style can vary as she can shift between high, low and medium attacks in a quick succession, mixing in kicks, punches and shoulder tackles with her attacks and they can be swift and accurate or slow and brutal. When she was a general she was one of the best 'non-magical' swordfighters in the world, and now that she has unlocked her magic potential she is even more deadly and could give even the most veteran of warriors a run for their money.
Magical affinity: Enhancements
When Siuan unlocked her magic, she never wanted to start throwing fireballs and summon lightning, as awesome as that sounds (she leaves that to her beloved), instead, she focused on unlocking the inner power of herself, her Chi. Using this power, she can boost her strength, speed and gravity, allowing her to run up walls, over water and similar surfaces for a short time. This lasts for 3 posts when activated, and needs the same amount of posts to recharge before it can be used again.
Wholeness of Mind and Body:
Her will was VERY strong before, now that she is at inner peace her will is nigh-unbreakable. Mind-control attempts, illusions, torture, physical pain and similar effects will not work against her, and she can even delay the effects of poisons and some diseases (this ability can be ignored entirely for story purposes, but is otherwise always in effect).
Life's Order: Healing.
Life's Order is a sword that takes life to give life. While wielding the sword Siuan can heal her allies when she damages her foes, allowing them to keep fighting so long as she carves through the enemy ranks. This is not her innate magic, and if she doesn't wield the sword (or loses/drops it), she cannot heal her allies.
Archery:
When all the smoke settled after her journey, Siuan went back to her family home and discovered the family Bow, a weapon that had been passed down through generations. She named this weapon "Dragon's Kiss", as a tribute to one of the best moments in her life, when she kissed Anna for the first time (although she had no idea at that moment Anna was a dragon). While she prefers to fight in melee, she will use the bow when her foe is out of reach.
Leadership: Siuan has regained her confidence during her travels, as well as her bravery and skills in leading others in a fight. She can keep her head cool in the worst of situations, and adapt to whatever comes her way. This of course means she can lead others as well, providing aid, support and guidance to those in need.
