Located in a secluded area of the Estate belonging to Duke and Duchess Tenebris is a lovely garden. It is not huge, but still of a size that shows wealth and effort. Different flowers and trees fill the area, birds have been collected and can be encountered moving about in the greenery, adding pieces of colourful feathers to the rest of the garden. It is rather peaceful, and members of the court likes to spend their time here in order to relax. A small stream of water runs down into a pond, at which shore stands a beautiful Gazebo. Most days it is possible to watch different odd things live their lives in the garden, one such example is a selection of garden tools that constantly work to keep the garden in order. Under the careful watch of the gardener of course. This whole area was a gift for Duchess Tenebris, a wedding present from her husband when they first married.
Euryale was sitting in a comfortable chair inside the Gazebo, a spread of food had been placed on the table in the middle of the small building, filled with all manner of delicate foods. She watched as one of the swans living in the pond came floating by, slowly moving towards the area of the pond she knew was their nest. Her attention returned to the table, and she watched as the butterknife finished spreading butter on a slice of bread. It was morning, or rather a late morning, she never liked the idea of being rushed out of bed. Starting the morning with some nice breakfast was always a highlight. "Is something the matter dear?" She asked across the table. "Have some breakfast... it will do you good, and we have a very eventful day ahead of us" The left side of her mouth curled into a smile, but it did not reach her eyes. "Yes, breakfast is important. The most important meal of the day!" Came the cheerful chirpings from a plate with sausages at the table. "Eat us, Mistress, for we are delicious!" On the other end of the table came a somewhat deeper voice. "No, you really should not eat too much fatty food, have something with more fibre, long-term energy" it was a pot filled with porridge that was talking. "Please, no need to be overwhelming dearies, I am sure she knows what she wants to eat." Euryale interrupted, silencing any other objects that might feel the need to put in how their food was far superior, or the debate would never end.

Sheraz eyed hungrily her options. Her eyes wandered between all the animated meals, and for moments at a time, she would just close them and smile as she listened to them. Euryale's words brought her back to reality, her eyes snapping to attention as she swiftly stabbed the sausages, and dropped them on the plate. She chopped them thoroughly, and slowly enjoyed her meal.
It wasn't until she was done with them that she looked to her sister, and grinned. "I wonder, sometimes. You do give them lovely little voices..." She placed her hand on the table, and pressured her nails against the tablecloth. "...but surely, others must hear such voices too, when they eat. Something had to cease to be for the meal to be. Was it painful? Painless? Swift...or delightfully slow?"
Sheraz laughed, and reached for the buttered slice of bread, staring at it for a while ponderously before eating it. "You merely bring the voices out. And I do wonder...if others might fear, might be repulsed by it. Would they accept being who they are, Euryale? That they have to constantly consume others so they can still be?" With that last sentence, she gazed straight into her sister's eyes.

Euryale raised one of her delicate eyebrows at the inquiries from her sister. "You are being very philosophical this morning dear sister. Not that I do not appreciate it, it is most refreshing." She commented, reaching out and pouring herself some coffee from a pot and seemed to do its best to contain its excitement at having its coffee chosen. "What I do is bring voice to their own purpose, a cake wants to be eaten and a rake wants to work" She watched as one such tool was currently tending to the grass on the other side of the pond, gathering old leaves and twigs into a pile for the junior gardener to collect. "That is simply how it is, the world has always worked that way. Eat or be eaten, we kill for meat, we grow crops to survive. In the end, people die and the ground eats what is left of them."
"What people fear is the truth, they fear what they already know to be true, but deny it. The stew they eat were once part of a living thing, it had a life of its own and died so others may live." As she talked she buttered up a piece of bread, before adding a slice of ham to it. "As you said, I give it a voice, and assurance that it desires to be eaten. As I said just moments ago, that is what their purpose is." There was a pause as she examined the sister, but she was not really looking at her, merely in that direction. "But to answer your question, yes, I do believe they would. In the end, the need to survive is far greater than fear of the truth. In my experience, many would relish the idea of indulging in their morbid side. But I do not make it a habit to give food life around guests, I do that for you sweet Sheraz, I do know how much you and Zhea likes it."

Sheraz laughed, feeling flattered by Euryale's response. "Sometimes I fancy thinking of something like that, dear sister. The thought struck me in yesterday's match, when I fought that soldier that kept bragging about his experience in the frontier provinces." Mentioning it made her space out for a moment, recollecting the match. "Hope your lovely husband's priests down at the abbey know how to fix him up...I know I didn't leave much left."
She kept eating, picking whichever animated bit of food seemed most enticing to eat, and washed it down with whichever juice was closer to her grasp. "Plans for the day, sister?" Sheraz inquired.

"Yes, I remember". Euryale commented slowly, plucking some grapes and putting them on her plate next to some cheese and a pear. "I never knew you were so keen on deep thinking during the heat of battle, but you need not worry about your opponent, I checked, he is alive and will recover." She paused, eating one of the grapes from her plate. "I am sure he will be back for a rematch with you before long, they do get very upset when their pride are bruised, even more after that confident display he gave beforehand." Euryale examined another grape before eating it.
"Nothing that will be much fun for you, I have some things I need to take care of in regards to my domain. The people need to see their duke and duchess, to gain confidence from our presence." She replied to her sister question. "There will also be a transport of something very special for an event in the arena, a little something to spice things up. Give the crowd that little extra, will be cause for great excitement I should think"

"I can hope he will...I have a few ideas to make him a really amusing display." Sheraz replied. She kept eating, listening to Euryale until she mentioned the arena. Then she once more had her rapt attention. "A special event...I can't wait for it. To think you've prepared such a thing for me, dear Euryale..." She giggled. "I'll make sure to savor it in full."

Euryale did not comment her sister's reply in regards to the soldier she had faced earlier, it did not bother her much and the soldiers taking part in the arena knew the danger of fatal injuries. Even if that was not the point of the contests, the King would object if death was the point. But with the danger of Ganon, it was more important than ever to make the people stronger, and so many tried their luck in the arena. If the soldier who faced Sheraz returned, and he had grown stronger, all the better for him.
The enchantress smiled at her younger sisters words. "Well, you will have to make certain you win if you wish to partake in that event, my sweet sister." She replied, taking a sip of her coffee. "You may not die, but you are not invincible and should someone destroy you too much... it will be difficult to put you back without being creative about it."

Sheraz laughed. "Oh, Euryale...I can win this easy, if the reward's big enough. Besides, I'll make sure the audience loves me! They'll have you hanged if you don't let the star of the show make it to the big event." She winked, as she wasn't really threatening her sister. Just having some fun.

Euryale smiled inside of her teacup, hiding this from her sister as she talked, speaking with great confidence about her ability to win the contest ahead. It was not that she doubted the sibling's ambition, or denied her skills in battle, but she could be reckless and that did not guarantee victory. "Yes indeed, I would be remiss to deprive the visitors of such a battle." She replied, calmly putting her cup down on the table again. " and do tell sister, what kind of reward would you find interesting?" She examined Sheraz curiously, putting her hands together to form an upside down V with the tips of her fingers touching the other. "In any case, I am not done planning yet, today will mainly contain your average contest of skill in the arena."

Sheraz laughed. "Oh sister, the fight is its own reward. A good fight. If I don't get to the finals, that means I don't get to fight as much, and that is very disheartening to me." She said, sighing.
Then, she got up from her chair, being done with her meal. She started to stretch herself, popping a few bones back in place. "So, when do I start fighting today? I hope it's soon, or I simply will have to excuse myself for a few hours for a...'hunting trip'."
