"Yes, the disciples. I was given a choice, and now I don't know that I took the right one." But this wasn't a question for her to dwell on. Regardless of whether or not it was right, this was the option she chose.
Sunan leaned over to look at the map. "Such a different land from the one I knew..." Everything was so much... wider. "I am not of much use for building, but I am capable enough. If I can be of help in a distant frontier, then I shall go."

The night wore on as those at the encampment continued to talk amongst one another, laughing at one another's jokes, sharing stories and history. Often, winds blew the frozen waters from the north across over the tundra, casting a grey cloud over the steppe, but this night the skies were clear. It was just them under the stars in the chilly wintry plains sat round the fire pit.
Before the conversation could proceed much further, the sound of crunching snow caught the attention of some of the Akkalan soldiers. Glances were skirted away into the shadows beyond campfire but they relaxed themselves when they saw what was approaching. Making its way toward them from the northern snowfields was a hulking figure, one arm held up before them and clutching an orb of light.
Their form was almost like that of a moblin's, if not for the way their face was flat and featureless, apart from a pair of shining white lights where their eyes should have been. With their strange appearance, they nearly seemed to be a beast, though none of the Akkalans drew a blade upon them.
As the dark form drew closer to the fire pit, the shimmering fire set in their palm flickered and faded away. Now that they were clearly in the light, the others at the camp could see the shape of a huge prize being held under their other arm. It was lowered over to the side of the campsite– a moose it seemed... its neck was bent badly and there were gashes in its side –and the newcomer moved to sit down at the edge of the camp. Their eyes briefly regarded Sunan, but instead they looked over in Aethelnoth's direction. "I had a small run in with a Grizzlemaw. I don't think it was fond of me hunting in its territory, but I don't think it will be interested in trying for another chase."

"No matter. If you're good at hunting, fighting...there's a place for you in Akkala. Always something going on in the wilds." Aethelnoth said, but soon turned his attention to the arriving figure. He smiled.
"Good to see you, Ashley. I told them not to worry about you getting split up. Have a seat, we're staying here for a while for dinner, maybe let everyone rest up for the night." He then looked at Sunan and gestured towards Ashley. "Don't you worry, she's with us. She doesn't bite." He teased.

"I may not look it, but I am capable of fighting. I simply prefer not to." Sunan replied, but any further conversation was cut off by the new arrival. Sunan looked to Ashley, but her face was similarly hidden by the shadows in her hood, as well as an extra bit of shadow magic to cover her face where natural shadows couldn't. Before her jump forward in time, Sunan had stopped concealing herself - at least, so completely. Now, though...
"If I have no reason to worry, then I shall not." Any sort of teasing went right over Sunan's head.

Leaning forward and resting her head upon a hand, she glanced over some of the soldiers, over toward Aethel. "There certainly is no getting separated from you, M'lord. Goddess knows, if you did go off on your own, we'd find out where you went in the news." Her tone was so straightforward, it might've been serious, but the other Akkalans could only laugh at the statement.
Still, she continued like she hadn't noticed their laughter. "At least be sure not to sleep in then. Lady Tyranea has kindly asked me to remind you that we will both have business to attend to in the capital very soon. For whatever reason we're being called to meet, I was asked to join in-person, so I can't be sure how well absence will be worn," Ashley said. "Digressing...
"What's the story of our friend here?" She indicated in Sunan's general direction. Though she seemed to be speaking to Aethel, Ashley kept her eyes on Sunan's own, inviting her into the conversation. "Didn't know a Sheikah had business with you this fine evening."

Aethelnoth chuckled. "She has nothing to worry. We'll be there." Then, he turned his attention to Sunan.
"Our friend is a traveler, much like myself. I've offered a warm meal, and possibly a place in Akkala." He tipped the barrel next to him slightly to refill his mug with ale, then he took another sip. "That being said, I don't think we are speaking with a sheikah. That being said, we haven't been properly introduced..."
He placed a hand upon his chest. "I'm Aethelnoth."

Sunan had nothing to add to the conversation between Aethel and Ashley. She knew nothing of the peoples here or their business. She nodded when she was indicated, the yellow glow of her eyes slowly bobbing with her hooded head.
"My name is Sunan, and no. I am no Shiekah. You speak with the last gasp of the Garo." The name "Garo" very likely means nothing to the soldiers, though the ones she's directly speaking to may know something of the shadow warriors, rivals of Ikana.

"Good. I'll be waiting." A pause and the fire in her eyes flickered tiredly. "...Already am."
Her attention returned to Sunan. "Like My Lord, hm? Well, it sounds like you must have traveled far then. Not too much familiar around here, I suppose. But," she said, glancing around at the nearby soldiers, "who's here that's still where they come from?" There was a sense that she was smiling, though it remained unseen.
If there was any form of recognition to the name, Ashley didn't show it. "The Garo... That certainly is a foreign name, Sunan. A lonely one, at that. At the very least, you deserve some rest." She gave a momentary pause to let the moment sink in.
"I ought to chastise My Lord, having already spoken my name." The grey figure stood up in the snow; her body shifted, subtly distorting and reshaping in the flickering shadows. Where the strange creature once was now stood a woman, her hand gently resting upon the scruff of a dog. She stepped forward, sitting down among the others now and resting her hands in her lap. Her features were no less grey than before, but she now appeared in a recognizable shape. Her eyes shone softly and the palla she wore glimmered lightly in the firelight. "I am Ashley of Stellam. I serve as Countess under Aethel."
She motioned to the other soldiers. "And introduce yourselves as well. It would be polite to our guest."

The soldiers shared their names and sometimes a bit of their story in service of Hyrule and the duke.
When that was over, Aethelnoth spoke once more. "I will say that you also have me at a disadvantage. I have seen much of the world, but I have never heard of the Garo." He chuckled. "But it is as Ashley said, we all come from faraway places. I haven't seen my kin in a very long time. What matters most is that we do right by one another, no matter the origin. So, you are welcome to be one of us, Sunan."

Sunan listened to each of the soldiers as she spoke, and nodded to them in turn, allowing them to say their piece. It was only courteous, after all.
"You never will hear of them." Sunan didn't say anything further, about why exactly the Garo were gone. She didn't need to. All that mattered was that they were. She looked towards Ashley as her form shifted, to what she assumed was her true form. She hesitated for a moment, then lifted her hood as well. In an instant, the shadows covering her face were gone, revealing her young-ish, scarred face and her amber eyes. "For years now I have traveled and seen the state of the land. To rest, and merely live..." She trailed off.
