The desert had changed in the great rainfalls of the Darkest Night. Once, the land was little more than an expanse of sand and dunes farther than the eye could see. The land was certainly still dangerous, perhaps more than any other in Hyrule, but now water and plant life seemed to collect in places. Rumors of an underground reservoir traveled among the Gerudo, and oases began to spring up throughout the land. Only one of these oases has been found by those still willing to traverse the deadly deserts. What was a small body of water anywhere else was practically a lake in the desert. And this pool was surrounded by palm trees - ready sources of shade, and places for animals to congregate. Now, though, the Oasis played host to a Scout of the Gerudo. Iamar sat near the edge of the water, looking at the dawn's sky. Her shamshir laid sheathed by her side, a rarity for her. She was feeling uncharacteristically pensive after the battle.

There was some sound of water splashing as Lyllith approached the edge of the water and sat by Iamar's side. In other instances, the witch would hide it, but in her present company she allowed herself a sigh of relief. Her monstrous arm had just barely regenerated, and the nerves were still aching.
But she let her claw rest by the water and placed her regular hand closer to Iamar, though her gaze was set skyward as well. "Let's not do that again for a while..." Lyllith said, bringing back the topic of the battle. It had been long and arduous, and all the arrow wounds she received in her giant form stung her back like needles, as she returned to regular size.

Iamar's eyes turned downward from the sky, looking downward, almost to confirm that it was indeed Lyllith approaching her. She couldn't help but look at her regenerated arm, still remembering the wounds she had suffered in the battle. Iamar herself had not fared perfectly - she would have a few new scars on her face and stomach now. But as she looked back to the skies twinkling their last for the night, she somehow felt her pain fade.
Iamar barely even noticed as her own hand moved closer to Lyllith's. "I would be content if I never had a fight like that for as long as I lived." She looked once more towards her unlikeliest of companions. "But you are well? Is there anything I can procure for your aches?" Iamar would not have asked that even a few weeks ago. But here and now, Iamar did not want to see Lyllith in pain.

Lyllith chuckled, and smiled, just a bit. "Don't worry about it. There's only ever been one person that knew how to..." She gestured with her hand towards the stone in her chest and her claw. "...figure this out. Even then, it was guesswork on his end. I'm fine, just give it time, it all comes back." She still looked up at the sky. "Besides, I look pretty good for a girl that fell down from the sky, don't I?" She asked, making light of her own situation.
Then she looked at Iamar. "How about you?"

The corners of Iamar's mouth turned slightly upwards in a smile. "Better than that, I would say." She leans forward a little, to better look at Lyllith's claw. She had no real idea how it healed, but it certainly seemed to, and if Lyllith didn't require assistance, then that was enough for her.
"I shall live," she said, with a small nod. "I have suffered worse and kept on. Magic scratches and a sword wound are not enough to kill me." She hesitated for a moment, then added, "Thank you. For fighting with me. I do not know if I said that before."

Seeing Iamar leaning closer, Lyllith leaned a little bit closer as well. "Well, we were both pretty upset at the same enemy, and besides...you've proved yourself beating me before. Glad we could work together." She placed her hand on top of Iamar's, then fell silent, looking at the warrior.

Iamar's hand twitched as Lyllith's hand fell on hers, and she looked down at it for a moment. She looked back up into Lyllith's eyes. While nobody else would see any expression softer than a scowl from her, with her present company, the corners of her lips turn upward in the slightest of smiles. "...Yes, I am glad for that too." She looked away for a moment and let out a slight chuckle, turning more towards Lyllith. "Perhaps... perhaps we can continue to work together. This land has changed, but it is still our home."

Lyllith drew herself closer, until they were basically shoulder-to-shoulder, with her hand holding on to Iamar's. "I would count on it. I don't have any plans on leaving this place. Or you. So you'll have to put up with it..." She smiled a bit impishly.

"Truly, you have placed such a burden on my shoulders," Iamar said, squeezing Lyllith's hand just a little. "I shall just have to bear it for the rest of my life. If-if you aren't unhappy with that." Despite the light smile and openness, Iamar was still rather nervous about her words. This had never happened to her before, and she'd thought it never would.

"Oh, I'm just fine with it." Lyllith went ahead and kissed Iamar's cheek. "I've been given a second chance at this, and this time I'll do right by it." She seemed pretty happy with herself, and her voice was nothing short of playful.
