The entirety of Hyrule Castle is a sight to behold. Its stature lives up to and surpasses the kingdom's historic legacy, dwarfing each of its predecessors in every which way. The castle grounds themselves cover a surprisingly large area, with their entirety spread across a giant, moated motte nearly matching the size of the kingdom's own external capital.
Much of the castle's inner workings– from many of its primary structures and the royal amenities to the hallways connecting them –were built underground directly into the island upon which it was constructed, and in turn, the castle has forgone the bailey layout, instead placing many of the amenities supporting Hyrule's governing body directly within the castle walls, earning the capitol a reputation of itself very much being a city.
While the forefront entrance of the castle (leading into the outer ward, wherein the barracks, royal stables, garrison, workshop, and other luxuries are located) is protected by a gatehouse, the inner ward where the castle keep– which houses the Seat of Power, among royal housing and amenities –and other governmental buildings are located is flanked by not one but two gatehouses, enhancing security upon those that proceed upon it.

Countess Stellam stepped into the outdoors, walking among the hustle and bustle that had been audience to the king's proclamation; there had been Hyrulean dignitaries, and there had been foreign envoys, and then, of course, there had been those such as herself, the kingdoms own representing nobility. She could hear the discussion among them as they were escorted toward the keep gates. Plenty of talk of the magical events that had unfolded before their eyes and the king's own speech, but most above all else, the champions that had stepped forward. But Ashley had none of it. Well, certainly not here. She listened and listened, but for the time being she held herself to silence. Her words were afforded an audience, yet not to any here, not for the time being. There were those here with which she would need to speak in the coming days, to fan the friendships she held here, but for this time she would keep her reactions here to herself. They continued their discussion upon the courtyard steps beyond the keep's gates– each of the present individuals rejoined by their respective entourages –but as the evening wore into night, the small crowd began to disperse in their separate directions: the membership of the Devoted of Hylia toward the Temple of Hyrule, which would house the religious dignitaries, and the ambassadors and the noble members each to their own housing within the inner and outer wards of the castle.
As she tread up the path, Ashley at last broke her silence, speaking to the bodyguard that traveled with her. "Uncle Desparat, I can feel your eyes on me, ever more so than usual. I will sate your curiosity soon enough, but please, a moment of patience. His Majesty's display of show and tell is requiring a moment of my thought." The elder Darknut responded with a short huff. They were used to this behavior from her father, but it seemed with her maturity, she had grown comparably worse. "Don't give me that. I need the time to organize my thoughts. Need I remind you why I sent in the request to His Grace to–"
Before she could finish, the sound of shouts had come from behind her. She– along with other fellow noble folk –turned back to face the source of the noise. Looking down the path, she could see the goron that had been present before running down the path away from his own housing down toward the inner ward gates. He was now accompanied by what must have been the rest of his diplomatic associates, and down below... The countess arched her brows. She could hear more Goron voices coming from beyond the gate, and most intriguing of all, among those there she could spot the figure of the Duchess of Eldin, the Yellow Maiden of Death Mountain.
Her gaze turned, following the diplomat that had formerly been sent on the Duchess's behalf as they quickly made their way past Ashley to join their superior down below. "Well, Desparat, it seems this evening's events have yet to come to a close." She followed after the diplomat, raising up an arm and gripping their own reassuringly and quickly made down with him to the gates. She would join them in the keep above, at the very least in spirit.
