With the quick developments, everything sure descended into baser chaos with ease. Majora would've been extremely satisfied, had she not gotten the short end of the stick on this one. And from the looks of Cut and Stab, she was about to get a few pointy ends as well.
She took a deep breath and started counting her options on her fingers. One, she could explode this body here and now, maybe with luck hang off of a rock for a while, let the captain and his target go at it and hope Kar'ka could knock the helmet off. Too much uncertainty. No good. They were closing in on her now.
Two. Ditch this body entirely and unveil the power within...no, too early for this, she'd need to kill everyone here to get a chance to not be revealed too early. And if she got defeated while like that...no, just no good at all. Her window of escape running to the sides ran out about then...
Three. She could...oh. Oh yes, she could. She grinned internally. It was risky to be sure, but it was the one plan that seemed more reliable...
And so, just as the pirates got close enough she could smell their breaths, the mask disappeared entirely. Or so it would seem to those not versed in magic. Majora remained where it was, but making itself disappear was a simpler trick, smoke and mirrors it could maintain for a little while safely enough...
What was left was to be convincing. The zora gasped, touching her face as if what had just transpired was entirely out of her control as well. She looked at the pirates with fear in her eyes. "P-please, I don't know what...I don't want any trouble..." She said, raising her hands.

The knight rode closer, their quarry held down by their attention. Despite the apparent situation at hand, the warrior had lost interest in all those others who were present. Altogether, the foreigners seemed wholly preoccupied by the messenger passed out nearby and the knight's target. Even when the pirate captain called out to them, only one of their accompanying soldiers looked down the shoreline to face him. It was only when the captain brandished the twin polearms before them that the soldier facing him addressed their leader. "Your Grace." They tilted their spear forward defensively. The knight shifted on their steed, seemingly looking forward down upon Kar'ka. They held still for several moments and then gave a small shake of their head. "No, that does not seem likely," they said. The statement was abrupt, amidst the middle of Kar'ka talking. It didn't sound like they were responding to him. In fact, it was almost as though they hadn't heard a word of what he said, or more likely as though they had thoroughly ignored him.
Whilst the knight and their accomplices were distracted by the pirates, their target made for a getaway. She started with a crawl away from the trio and then stumbled to her feet, breaking into a run. Instead of managing to get away, though, she instead found herself running toward and tripping over the fallen shape of the other woman entrapped by Cut and Stab. Tumbled onto the ground next to her, the Hylian stranger pushed herself up and looked back toward Zora lady.
Clumsily standing, the foreign lady turned toward the two pirates, lifting up an hand. Bolts of electricity began to flicker and lick across the length of her arm. "Don't you two try me." She held a hand back for the Zora woman to hold onto and gave just a brief nervous glance back toward her, one red eye visible beneath that mane of purple. "What are you waiting for, milady? Let's get out of here?"
The knight momentarily glanced away, watching as their target made for an escape. What trouble they were having today. First, this sorceress, and then apparent leaks of their arrival. This would have to be addressed. They spoke again. "Retrieve the little warlock... And take care of these pests. I will address this." They gestured toward the captain, gazing down upon him once more.
Seeing the brigand's movements, the warrior moved quickly. A hand wrapped around the reins of their steed, tugging sharply back on them. At once, the elk reared upward with a bark. The trident shot past past them, slamming into the rock face behind them and cracking its surface. Even with the spear just barely dodged, it still had not fully missed. Searing blue marks had been left upon the steed's armor and what little fur was visible around its legs was blackened from the passing heat.
And at once, the knight was ready to take their turn.
?????
Royal Knight of Lorule
Leaning forward on their saddle, they urged the elk onward and forward it charged straight at Kar'ka. They raised their weapon, aiming a diagonal strike down upon his neck. Bolts flew upon the two of them, some bouncing off the elk and rider's armor, while others embedded themselves in the steed or found themselves burrowed into the warrior's chainmail.
Behind them, the two soldiers held up their spears: a flash of light emitted from each and the two vanished from position. Another flash of light. The first reappeared, swinging his blade up at one of the scattered crew members. The other? Appearing meters away from the escaping quarry and the escaping zora woman.
As a certain Ezraloth might say, things certainly seemed to be heating up over there. The arrival of the Loruleans had certainly made the situation across the lake devolve into ever more of a mess, and none of it looked to be resolved any time soon. Not on their own at least.
But there was something else that actually did trouble Suspicax. The Demoness squinted. Indeed, something was amiss. Unnatural. As veley watched, they could see the space around the gate warping. And it continued to spread outward. Velare other eyes told velem that this was beyond their mundane sights either. No, no those beyond the lake could see none of this. But velem, veley watched as the spacial properties across the lake continued to warp and twist. It followed along one of the foreigners, like a disgusting, slimy trail. And the longer they stood there, the more it spread outward from them.
The Regent frowned. This source could not be allowed to linger in this Light World. It was a danger returning whoever– whatever –they were back to Lorule, but the longer they remained here, the more twisted reality would become. The more off course they would take it.
Suspicax clenched velare walking stick tightly; within the Demoness's curled talons a glimmering black orb took shape and beneath velare feet a pattern of shimmering shapes formed across the ground. Veley would have to resolve this velemself.

Kar'ka had always found success in duels with fancy knights. The proud and boisterous cavaliers that roamed Hyrule were often proud, vain, and arrogant creatures. Most of all, they bore a hubris so blinding that they never saw their missteps until it was too late. Sure, this bunch was more unusual to the typical bravado-filled horseman that Kar'ka typically stumbled upon, but the captain had come to believe most of the world was made of the same parts. Arrange them one way, and you get boat. Arrange them another, and you get a house. Everything was a combination of the same ingredients, and most people were the same combination of blood, guts, and bones. Kar'ka knew he was good at taking these things from whomever he wanted.
Shifting his footing at the approach of his foe, Kar'ka turned his spear toss into a lunging parry. He dove forward with Tiamat aimed at his opponent's weapon, hoping to deflect the blade of the partizan using unorthodox response and matching range. With this, Kar'ka made a gambit to duck past his enemy and regain control of his lance, swinging it about himself wildly to make a counter strike to the mount's hind legs. The attack wouldn't be precise, for sure, but Kar'ka had hoped it would catch the beast by surprise. As if hungering for the strike to connect, Tiamat's butt end oozed with a black venom of hideous nature. A cursed magic coalesced about this end of the polearm; a dark taint that churned like viscous slime but wispy like smoke. This black substance, when mixing in the blood stream of another, would slowly blind the target. It was with this that Kar'ka had hoped to steal the elk's vision, turning it clumsy and unwieldy to control. If the Zora could bring the knight onto his feet, victory would be within reach.
Striding over to the face of the mountain, Kar'ka swept his free hand near the ground and picked up Abzu once more. He turned quickly, adopting a defensive stance and waiting for the next charge. Looking to the side, he watched as one of his men was easily cut down by one of the flanking horsemen. Another of his men, overcome with bravery, foolishness, or a mix of the two, had brandished knives and tried to leap up onto the knight's accomplice.
~~~
"What a shit night," Cut moaned, watching as their prey gained a new ally and one of the subordinate knights approached. His whining was accompanied by a sharp elbow to the gut from Stab, who looked at the two ladies with greedy eyes.
"Stay out of this, wench!" barked Stab, shakily holding out his slender knife as nerves and adrenaline conquered his body. His eyes shifted suddenly between them and the soldier that had appeared closeby. His trembling grew more and more violent, his eyes wilder, and he looked at the masked Zora with desperation. "S-she's the one we want! Give her up, we'll let you go! I said... GIVE!"
With a newly found expression of terror, Cut looked at his comrade with a face of shock. "'E-ey, Stab, bud," he said slowly, reaching out a friendly hand. "Calm yerself, bruv. You never lose yer cool like dis." There was a brotherly sort of affection shown by the patchwork pirate then, his hand landing softly on Stabston's shoulder.
Swatting away the other pirate's hand, Stab shot back a look of feral rage. Cut withdrew his arm and shrunk back like a cornered turtle as Stab spun around again looking at the girls once more. "I'm not askin' again, you worm," Stabston spat, the edges of his mouth foaming like a rabid animal. He pulled back his long knife, the intent of murder seeping from his pores like a foul odor, and charged at his target. "THE MASK IS MINE!"
Suddenly, the one the knights were chasing was protecting her. So much for playing innocent now. She sighed. "You know, here goes another idea--" It was then that Stab lost all good sense and just charged at them ready to attack her for the mask. She had very little recourse for defending herself, and if Stab landed a hit on a body already spent like this..it'd be pretty much the end of this zora's usefulness.
Time for one big trick. Majora revealed itself once more, brimming with forbidden power. The zora's body began to dissipate in full, as though she were a monster bursting into darkness.
From that burst sprang forth several masks, all identical to Majora, in several directions with no rhyme nor reason. It would be nigh impossible for one to know where the original had gone amidst the chaos of combat.
Yet, Majora had chosen to hide in plain sight, having used the misdirection to land itself on the Lorulean quarry's back, away from most prying eyes, but at the same time not without recourse.
"For whatever reasons those Loruleans are pursuing you, they'll stop if you get me what I want..." Rang out a voice that only the one it was attached to could hear in her mind. "That one, fighting the captain...the darkness within would fuel my powers to no end...I just know it. Help me, and I will do so in turn. So...you know. Friends?"
The captain's counterstrike worked with some effectiveness. The deflection struck the partizan, knocking it upwards just enough to allow for Kar'ka's ducking dodge, though the pure speed of the weapons clashing was enough to cause the both of them to reverberate uncomfortably. It was difficult, but just enough of a risk to make it.
With his secondary strike behind the knight, the lance stuck itself up between plates of the beast's armor. The strike was inconvenient, but effective enough: it felt as though it connected with flesh.
At once, the knight tugged back on the reigns of their steed, turning and bringing their partizan down in a terrific thrust. With the lance pulled from the armor just in time, the jab just barely missed, falling inches before the zora's face as he backed away, but not yet did they seem done. They guided the elk forward, slowly stalking after Kar'ka with underhanded vertical swings to either side. Neither side appeared to show less an opening than the other. They held equal skill regardless of hand.
The warlock started to slowly edge away from the Lorulean soldier. They had an arm outstretched and their spear held out toward her, but her eyes were only on these two poor souls. "Oh—" She had a laugh at that. "I'm the one that escaped royal prison, and you're going to let me go?" She was prepared to give another amused retort back to the pirates, but before she could everything collapsed all at once. One of them started shrieking wildly and just when he moved in, so too did everyone else make their move. Behind the warlock, the zora woman exploded into a burst of smoke, and even then she had no time to give her death the attention it so deserved; off to her right, the Lorulean soldier drew their spear back, diving in toward her. First thing's first. The warlock leaned back, just barely avoiding avoiding the soldier's grasp as they reached past her face. Then the next movement– a wind, subtle yet sturdy, buffeted her face. Just enough to bring her to her next movement, as she stepped back and rose sideways in a graceful pirouette behind them– carried by the wind –to avoid Stab's stab. And at the culmination of her movement, out she stretched her arms and pushed them sideways further away from herself. Now they were realigned, and as she promised, a bolt of electricity arched from her fingertips to their assailant. It was fortunate enough that the Lorulean soldier's armor seemed thick enough to keep the pirate's redirected attack from straight up impaling them, but now they were faced with two pirates and their own target stood behind them. The warlock held herself up straight, gazing upon the others. She leaned forward rather playfully near the soldier's ear, her voice quiet. "Oh, I'll do what I can, Sir Soldier, but our hands do seem to be rather full." She smiled, hoping her dear friends would get the message.
The soldier fighting off the remainder of the crew certainly had their hands full. The pirates were full of fighters and fools alike. Bolts poked out from the woolen outer layer of their armor, stuck on whatever they wore beneath the robing, but still they struck out at them one by one.
They threw their spear forward, impaling another of the pirates. Things turned darker for them when the one man made for them whilst they hunted down his fallen crew mate, leaping from the side upon them. It worked- for a moment. The two of them tumbled off to the side, along the shoreline and when they came to a stop they pirate was atop the Lorulean. Things seemed rather grim for a moment with the pirate holding a dagger above them, but then the gem fastened to their mask blazed with a light in the man's face, enough to make him rear away from their face.
Their movements were practically indicated by the almost-spotlight beam emitting from their mask, but they moved no less boldly than before. The soldier pushed off the pirate, aiming to overtake him instead. They grabbed his tunic, but whatever fight he had in him was enough to push back at them, and the two toppled backwards over the shoreline and into the lake. Onto the lake?
They fell flat onto a hard surface where the lake had been. But whatever it was, it wasn't wet. There was no coldness to it. Whatever they had landed on was a pure black and was at the very least where the lake had been, but it was no lake.
There hadn't been much time before another assault was launched. Kar'ka wasn't in complete confidence his last attack had any effect, but he could have sworn Tiamat had bitten down on meat. His unsettling, amber eyes shot back and forth across their sockets, like a ball volleyed between two opponents. The captain could find no flaw in his enemy's attack, and soon realized most of his plans came out with him taking a hit. "Bloody knights," Kar'ka sighed with a confined smirk. "You lot sure know how to dance. Let's see if you've seen this move!"
With twin lances in hand, Kar'ka responded to his foe's charge with one of his own. He shifted to the knight's left, knowing it was the more uncommon dominant side. His defensive pose shifted suddenly to a vulnerable offense. Kar'ka drove both spears, one after another, into the knight's side with the intent of impaling vital organs. With this gambit came a cost, however, as the vertical swing on the knight's left made contact with its target. Kar'ka felt a sharp pain as the weapon's blade bit into his right thigh. The slice wasn't shallow and drew a stream of blood from the captain's leg, but the Zora was still able to stand on it after the fact. Kar'ka prayed the battle would soon end, however, as the pain quickly crept up from below.
~~~
Overcome by a cloud of frenzy, smoke, and lightning, Stab found himself exposed on all sides. His lunging attack had found purchase in the dark soldier that emerged from the portal, though he knew not how. The two girls had disappeared from sight, though he thought could hear them speaking behind the soldier before him. Were they all working together? The pirate was realizing he was punching above his weight, though it was now too late. A streak of electricity coursed through every fibre of his being, igniting him wholly with a vibrant pain. And once it began to subside after a moment, and Stab gained his bearings, he realized a deep pain still throbbed in his gut. He looked down and his eyes widened, then rolled back in his head.
Cut looked upon the scene in horror, dismayed that his words of caution had fallen on deaf ears. In a flash the two girls had escaped his comrade's attack, dipping away and leaving Stab in the center of everything. The tattooed pirate had lit up radiantly like the eye of a lighthouse, bathing the nearby area in a morbid glow. And when the flash of light had ended and all had settled, the soldier's lance found itself impaled deeply into his torso. With all of the commotion, it seemed that even the soldier might not have been sure he had killed the pirate. Stab had fallen limp in death, but his arms were still outstretched with two mismatched daggers harmlessly digging into the soldier's armor.
"Stabston!" Cut finally shrieked, his arms shaking too much to properly wield his club. "Y-ya monsters! We jus' wanted the mask, we did! No r-reason to shishkebab me bruv!" A figure behind the soldier caught Cut's eye, and he looked back to the soldier with a perplexed glance. "I don't know was goin' on," the peg-legged bandit admitted, "an' that's 'bout usual. But I extra don't know was goin' on here! Me boss jus' wants the funny mask from th' fish lass. Lissen, mate, I'll help ya get yer funny foreign gal if ya help me catch our li'l minnow. How'sat sound?"
~~~
The two remaining pirates that had remained on crossbow coverage ran to the edge of the lake where their comrade had rolled over with the soldier. The looked with confusion, not understanding what was before their eyes. Figuring it to be a sorcery trick, as their captain often attributed all mysteries to, they loaded their crossbows and aimed them at the soldier who had fallen down. The pirate that had fallen with them was dazed, likely concussed, and only had a harder time seeing straight with his mysterious surroundings. Though he tried finding his enemy once more, he only stumbled prone every time he tried getting to his feet.
Following the captain's movements, the knight drew their weapon back sharply, readying the next strike down upon him with a cruel force. What they didn't expect, however, was for the zora to try for an attack upon them. To what end would he face a towering warrior such as them? But for what risk his attack opened upon him, it at least came with reward.
Abzu found its mark first, rising up and piercing through the very plating of their chest armor. And as if that first strike weren't enough, Tiamat too tasted blood, slicing open the mail that coated the open sections of their left arm. The initial protection was enough to keep from severely wounding them, but where the blade's teeth met flesh, it tore across their arm till the two lances were shoved away by the knight's own weapon.
The two fighter's exchanged blows and once on the other side, neither were for the better off. Blood had begun to come from the two wounds on the knight, and despite their best efforts to maintain their advantage, they now sat hunched forward upon their steed, clearly in pain. Still, it was time for them to bring this fight to an end, and remove this meddling interloper from view.
For a moment, they urged their steed back, to turn and trample him into the ground, but for some reason the creature refused their command. Reaching across, they gripped their weapon with both hands. The warrior gazed down at Kar'ka, silently refusing him a victory, and they rose up in their saddle. He wanted this fight brought to his level did he? He would feel the full pain of that mistake.
Resting one of their feet on their saddle, the knight rose the partizan in both hands and leaped down at Kar'ka with a furious swipe.
When all was said and done, the raving pirate raved no more. The soldier stood still for only a moment in surprise, not even seeming to have registered the warlock's words, but after a moment, pushed back upon the corpse. They withdrew the spear and shoved him off themselves, leaving him to topple down to the ground. No longer was he a threat to themselves or the target.
The soldier whirled around, once again reaching out to grab at the lady only for her to step away from them again. An unfortunate and easy miss after the focus on the pirate's death.
The warlock peered across the scuffle at Cut. "Hey, I did warn–" Before she can speak any further, she finds the soldier's spear just narrowly thrust past her face. "Watch it, mean lady. Ain't your orders to capture me alive," she said. Crackling electricity began to crackle along their arm again.
The Lorulean soldier slowly looked back toward Cut, tapping a hand up against their masked helmet. "You help me, and you may find this shield protecting more than just Her Royal Grace."
A grimace formed upon the girl's face and she looked around the lakeside. Ugh, what a mess. These pirates really did have to complicate matters. This was supposed to be so much simpler, but now she was on the run and the area was getting littered with corpses. With a sigh, the warlock turned heel and began sprinting back toward the heart of the battle, near the place where the portal to Lorule once had been.
The second of the two bodyguards that had come with the knight was slow to recover. It seemed they were equally thrown off by the new situation they found themselves in. The soldier pushed themselves up onto their hands and knees. Their vision swum as they looked around. To their side, they could see that other pirate that had fallen with them and above they could see other barely visible shapes on the shore, but could barely recognize them.
The soldier crawled along the surface of the lake, trying to get a sense of what was happening. Searching for their lost weapon. Something was amiss, something more than this ambush.
Behind them, further into the black surface which had covered the lake, a shape began to rise from the depths. A pair of clawed hands outstretched, terrible and monstrous. Something greater than any man or beast any of them had yet seen. Black scales glinted in the moonlight, their surface black as ink and slick as oil. The shape lurched forward silently, a predator hunting its prey, white jagged teeth gnashed, and the first of the Lorulean soldiers was gone. Then, a moment later, its four shimmering red eyes shifted, turning toward the other pirate which had fallen on the lake, and its monstrous shape began to emerge further from the lake.
A toothy grin spread across Kar'ka's leathery cheeks as he witnessed the knight dismount. The last exchange of blows had been fruitful, justifying the oozing gash in the captain's sore thigh. The vision-hampering miasma of Tiamat had begun to claim the horse's senses, it would seem, and soon the mix of magic from the lances would begin to take hold of the knight themself. With but a moment to measure his next move, the Zora braced for the incoming strike and devised a new reply.
Unburdened by the bulk of armor, the pirate lord ducked and dove aside from the partizan's blow. His ferocious maw flung open and jolted forward with a predator's instinct, clamping down hard on the upper shaft of the weapon with several rows of gnarly teeth. Kar'ka amplified the momentum of the attack and jerked his upper body with the flow of the knight's weapon, yanking it downwards in the same direction with even greater force. As he shifted his jaw downwards with the weapon, he used the force of his enemy's attack to swing his torso with a hefty jerk. His right arm shot forward like a cannon, using Kar'ka muscular vigor augmented by the knight's own powerful strike. Tiamat's dark mouth lunged hungrily for the knight's heart as it aimed to be plunged through the knight's left shoulder into their chest.
Kar'ka's right thigh exploded with hot pain.
~~~
A sigh of relief removed the weight from Cut's chest. He nodded in agreement with the knight, though there was still some hesitation following Stabston's untimely end. Wrapping his chopped-up fingers tightly around the nasty club's hilt, the bandit turned to look for the masked Zora and her new associate once more. A blur had replaced the hunted girl, however, and suddenly the pirate could see her dashing off towards the magical gateway once again. "After 'er!" Cut shouted to no one in particular, charging after his target. Stab had died for that mask, after all, and he wouldn't let it escape his grasp that easily.
~~~
A bloodcurdling shriek echoed hauntingly through the valley. The concussed pirate looked upon the scene on the black lake in horror, instinctively running to the cliff back up. He tried to climb with no avail, his delusional panic and lack of handholds preventing such an escape. The two pirates above were stunned for several moments, each in shock of the horrible death they had just witnessed.
Brought back to reality by their shipmates screams of terror, the two set aside their crossbows and went to work on a rescue. One pirate grabbed the other by the ankles and lowered him down the sheer wall towards the black surface. The fallen pirate jumped impatiently for the saving grasp of his comrade, though fully extended the two above were nearly half a foot short. The dangling pirate stretched until his limbs were aching, but still he couldn't reach his shouting, frantic ally below. Reaching a hand to his belt, the hanging pirate loosened a sheathed dagger and tore a strip of fabric from his doublet to fasten the blade to its holder. Reaching out once more with the knife for extension, the frenzied pirate managed to grab hold and began to be lifted off from the lake's face.
The Lorulean knight was dragged down by entirety of the momentum brought down upon them. With one arm already damaged and the momentum against them only built ever further, the partizan was ripped entirely from their grasp. They were drawn further to the ground and with what speed they had, there was so little time to react. Tiamat struck the knight's pauldron squarely and powerfully. Though the weapon failed to tear into their armor as Abzu had, it had done its job. Things almost seemed to still for a moment and then the reverse push from the weapon's strike kicked in. They sailed away from Kar'ka, landing on their back nearly a yard away. Tossed upon the ground, the knight lay dazed. They tried to lean forward, to call upon their dark powers and strike once more at their foe, but no, something was strange. Wrong. The dark power they had sensed? No, not the spear...
The soldier gave chase after the target, running alongside Cut. "She doesn't have the power to open the gateway, she has a plan." There was a pause. "Keep after her, I'll cut her off." The soldier fell back, drawing back their spear and vanishing in a flash of light behind the pirate. The warlock dashed away and away from her pursuers. She sure a hell didn't remember all this being part of the plan. Overcome and adapt, huh? As she drew closer and closer to the fight ahead, she could get a better glimpse of what was happening. The struggle between that Zora and Her Grace seemed just about at its conclusion, and for none the better for either of them. Well the old gods be damned, maybe it was a good thing she found this little leg up– Another flash of light, and there's that Lorulean soldier again! This time they were standing near the mountainside wall. They had to be closing off her choices, making sure she didn't get any ideas about ways she could go. Well, here goes nothing then. She shifted the direction of her run, instead moving toward the two fallen combatants. It's where the zora lady's spirit had wanted her to go, no? Better see how much of a leg up this lady could give— A shriek echoed beyond them all from the direction of the lace. The warlock stumbled in her steps, but put all her energy into reaching the fallen knight. Dropping down to her knees next to them, she smiled and grabbed at the mask from her back. "I know you've already a mask on, but Your Grace, I think new face wouldn't hurt for a bit. I think it's time to change things up."
As it moved toward the pirate, the terrific creature continued to rise further and further from the surface of the almost mirror-like black surface. It seemed– It was almost as though the creature was too big. A story? Two? More. And the more of it that appeared, the more the creature seemed to be some monstrously horrendous combination of other creatures. The shape of a draconic lizard, fins flowing along its body and from its head as a zora, teeth of a shark. It whipped its head around, looking down upon its escaping prey, and there were those shining red eyes, more and more opening all around the the shape of the creature's head as it focused intently on the pirates. For a moment, it seemed to stop, at last having completely formed. Then, beneath the three pirates, beneath towering creature, the black mirrored surface began to dematerialize. Lines criss-crossed along its surface. There were no cracks, no signs of it breaking. It was an intricate webbing, a pattern formed of careful precision, an impossible to perceive organization in the chaos below. When it dispersed, the truth faded once again, and the dark mirror was gone. The beast fell into the water, and a great splash of water was sent upward, spraying over the pirate crew and Kar'ka and the knight. And another splash, and another, as claws rent into the shore side dragging the creature out from the lake depths. The pirates would have managed to make it to shore in time, but still it continued to climb after them, the lamp hanging from the end of the fin upon its head shining a brilliant blue as it began its attack.
Majora endured watching chaos unfold in near absolute silence. It was a torturous endeavor, especially as the pirates and knights united against this one it had bet on. It would curse, but without a mouth the only one who'd hear would be its 'savior'.
But as the battle went on, Majora realized it had underestimated the guile of this one, slipping through the others with such agility and ease. And then, there it was. Majora felt the lovely dark presence of the fallen knight right as it was placed on their face.
Now, new thoughts began to surface. Confusion, anger, indignation...Majora felt it strongly as the demon sank its claws deeper and deeper into the consciousness of the host. It could see flashes of memories of the faraway realm of Lorule. A lifetime laid bare before it, both new and all the same old to it, as though it had known it all along.
But this one had an unyielding spirit. The Lorulean knight kept an orderly, centered focus deep within their psyche, even as Majora's presence spread like a rushing tide overtaking everything. It would try and brute force this center into breaking, but it would refuse. At that moment, knight and demon would meet one another, face to face in the realm of the mind.
This struggle was unseen and unknown to the others. What they could see was the mask's eerie glow, as the knight writhed, limbs making awkward, sudden motions without rhyme nor reason. At the same time, the knight's form was becoming slightly warped, enveloped in shadow then for a moment go back to normal. What was certain is that Kar'ka's foe was no longer able to keep on fighting it, and that the mask he sought lay right there on their face.
