Listening to the Goron talk, Sheik shook her head. It was a sad ordeal that the Gorons had tried solving their own problems, but it had escalated to the point where they had to admit defeat and ask the Hylians for aid. In a perfect world, they would ask, and recieve, help immediately. The races of Hyrule needed to stand together for the good of all.
It was then the Lizalfos and their robed stranger was revealed, and moving even before Link had spoken, Sheik had grabbed the reins to Zelda's horse, leading it away from the oncoming threat. "Dismount and get to cover, your highness!", she spoke, concern in her voice. She already held a kunai in her free hand and was forming more out of shadow magic, getting ready to throw them at the attackers should they get too close. Sheik was here as her sisters' bodyguard after all, so she would stay close and keep her safe, leaving the offensive assault to the champions.

Zelda nodded at the words of the Goron. "Yes, we'll see what can be done. We do not know the state of Lord Everest for sure, he could still have survived, however small the chance might be it is better to hope than despair." The princess said softly. "Mourn him once we know for sure that he is gone, that is my advice, however small it might be"
At Rosa's words, Zelda turned her attention forward. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and the next moment she was off the horse. Slipping down with ease and experience the princess landed on the ground, adjusting her cloak for a moment right as she landed. She knew well enough her duties and part in situations like these, she was not the fighter and it was the duties of her champions to fight for her at times like these. "How is your long arm Shiek?" she asked, making a small gesture in the direction of the floating magician in the back. "awfully little cover in the air like that, would be a shame if something were to happen?" As she said this a pale light appeared around Zelda's fingers, only to vanish and reappear around sheik's kunai. It was not her most potent magic, but it would give the weapons a little extra punch in terms of distance and damage caused.

The center vanguard of the Lizalfos was scattered with relative ease by Link's charge, though the others at the flanks rushed the rest of the party without missing a beat. The ones who had fell apart from the cavalry charge turned quickly upon the horserider, two of which flung their spears with monstrous effort while the others slithered quickly along the ground on all fours in pursuit. The hooded mage made note of its fiery missiles being dodged, though it had aimed its volley not solely upon Link. Half a dozen of the fireballs were now reaching the rest of the caravan, and half a dozen more were suddenly conjured and launched forth to follow up the initial barrage.
The Goron wagon creaked in agony as its passengers vaulted over the sides with heavy slams into the cobblestone below. With thick mauls and blunt axes they braced for the coming wave of reptilian assailants as Gogrit stood behind with his mind half missing from the present circumstances. Twin flaming spheres whistled through the air and collided with the group with an inflamed explosion, though when the smoke cleared quickly it was clear the ambassadors were unphased. The left flank of Lizalfos struck quickly in response, surrounding the Goron retinue and harassing them at a distance with their crude spears. Keeping out of range of the Goron counterattacks, the monsters let their prey swing and miss in hopes of tiring out their potential victims.
Rosa looked about frantically, her attempts to temper her fear of the attackers wavering the closer they approached the caravan. Two immediate threats made themselves apparent following the attack on the Gorons, and she realized that she was likely doomed in her current standing. Two more fireballs were arcing directly towards her position, and on the right flank a Lizalfos had appeared so close that there was no opportunity to turn and run. With hungry eyes the creature charged at Rosa, its confidence in securing a kill granting additional haste.
Rosa closed her eyes and spoke several words beneath her breath, then looked up with both hands raised towards the incoming fireballs. A glimmer of light flickered brightly in a veil before her, the flash halting the Lizalfos for a moment with its blinding radiance. One of the flaming orbs dove quickly from the air with a menacing purpose, though upon reaching the shield of light it was suspended. Rosa and her horse both reeled back from momentum of the projectile, though with a wave of her right hand she sent the fireball into her attacker with a great blast of flame. With her attention turned upon the target of her deflection, the Minister was unable to brace for the next fiery orb and the force of impact sent her flying from the back of her horse. The fireball whizzed aimlessly up into the clouds before bursting into an ephemeral inferno, and then dissipating smoke.
Shaking away her blurry vision, Rosa looked around for her horse before realizing it had run off. She tried to lift herself from the ground but collapsed in pain. Her right arm was throbbing from breaking her fall, though using her left hand to stand proved effective. Looking towards the right flank, she saw that the Lizalfos hit by the fireball was rising to its feet once again with several other of its kin joining its side. With a cluster of hisses and growls, it pointed its clawed finger towards Rosa, and then to Zelda and her bodyguard. Barking more orders in its horrible tongue, the group of Lizalfos began to charge the princess. Rosa retreated to Zelda, wincing at the pain in her right shoulder.
"We'll have to fend for ourselves," the Minister said, first to the princess and then turning towards Sheik. She looked to the shadowy blade in the bodyguard's hand. "I sure hope you know how to use that thing. And I pray you have more than just the one." The priestess looked back upon the right flank once more as the Lizalfos closed the gap to just a dozen paces. She rose her left hand as the right hung limply as her side, summoning another shield of light. Its shimmer was much more faint than the one she had used just minutes before. "Your Highness, I might need your help here."
Approaching quickly was the second volley of fireballs, spread about in such a formation to turn the caravan's position into a flaming graveyard.

Even as she was clearing the line of lizard men, the knight prepared a follow up to her initial blow on the enemy. She gave a small tug on Epona's reigns to ready the horse maneuvers her way back toward the others, just in time too as the spears flew through the air behind them. In deft motion, she grabbed her bow and– swinging a leg around her saddle to give herself a better targeting angle at the –loosed a small flurry of arrows upon her pursuers, taking out a couple of the Lizalfos.
As her horse brought her back around, she quickly took stock of the rest of the battlefield's flow. The enemy's front line had been scattered, but that flank was still heading forward and the magician of course remained. On the other end of things, she spotted Zelda somewhat further away with Sheik, though the pair appeared to have dismounted. Silently, she cursed herself, wishing she had urged Sheik to instead ride away with Zelda, but no matter. With the other Lizalfos were encroaching upon the Goron caravan and that Minister and others moving upon the princess, she had no time to waste.
Righting herself on her steed, she spurred the horse, charging forward once more. She would have to settle with trampling through her remaining pursuers and scaring those she missed as she made her way back. Gripping the reigns, she leaned forward, watching as the Minister moved towards Zelda and summoned forth a small barrier. Her eyes shifted toward the wagon. The ambassador and his compatriots seemed to be fumbling with the the Lizalfos harassing them. They were going to be annoying if they weren't dealt with quickly.
Another pair of of arrows flew through the air, striking down two of the Lizalfos attacking the Gorons. Perhaps the sight of the two of them falling right before them would snap her rocky allies to the current moment. One way or another, that was all Link could manage to do before she was upon the group moving toward Her Highness.

Sharifa growled from her position defending the ambassador. They were getting nowhere, fast, and she was growing annoyed. These Lizalfos were untrained, and their weapons were the work of a novice. If it weren't for their sheer numbers, they wouldn't have been able to surround the caravan like this. And then there was the matter of that mage…
She'd been silent for the entire trip so far, waiting for something that would require her skill. But when it did come, it came too quick for her, and she had found herself surrounded by creatures looking for an easy fight. Well, she had no intention of giving that to them.
She was about to take a risk and rush the line of Lizalfos when from the corner of her eye, she noticed the Hylian Champion firing a pair of shots their way. She took advantage of the assistance, running to follow the shots and dropped Lizalfos, ripping a spear from one of their hands before turning and thrusting it into the chest of one of their comrades. She turned around to strike with her sword, aiming to take the lion's share of the attackers away from the wagon. She looked back towards Link, nodding in thanks for her help.
"Help the others! I have this handled!" Sharifa only managed that before her sword was turned towards the Lizalfos again, hopefully having fully taken their attention away from the Gorons. She could take them on herself, and that was the best way to defend the others. The time for conversation would come later.

Sheik conjured up more kunais and listened as her sister spoke about taking out the caster in the back, returning her question with a little smirk, although it was not visible under her mask. "It would be a terrible shame", she simply replied.. She gave the princess a stiff nod, and as Zelda blessed her kunais with her magic, giving them farther reach and power, she emerged from their cover and tossed one of the kunais at the wizzrobe, ducking, rolling dodging and weaving her way towards it, unleashing a kunai whenever an opening showed itself. With half of them thrown, if it didn't kill the wizzrobe, it would at least provide sufficient distraction while she helped the ambassador and his people deal with the Lizalfos.
Approaching one of the reptilian monsters from the side, she quickly dashed in, and as she wrapped her fist in shadow magic, delivered a precise punch to the creature's ribcage. It would most likely take her more than one punch to crack the ribs of a creature of this size and phyisque, but it was a start. Just as she had predicted, the punch was not enough to do any major damage, but it was enough to cause the creature to reel backwards, giving Sheik the time to slip in among the defenders ranks. She narrowly dodged a strike from one of them and parried another incoming one with her kunai, rolling forward to deliver a powerful kick to the Lizalfos' head. With a croak the monstrosity fell over, either dead or knocked unconcious by a shadow-infused kick to the skull. Another attack came in and grazed her arm, and she grunted in pain as she withdrew a little into the ranks of her allies. Things were going decently, and she had bought her friends some time. She slowly started making her way back to Zelda, when push came to shove, she was supposed to be her bodyguard after all.

Princess Zelda furrowed her brow as the enemies began to close in on her location, she glanced to Rose as the minister spoke, her eyes shifted towards the second volley of fireballs. For just a moment she remained motionless, her hand closed. A golden light appeared from within her hand and as she raised it a large dome of light took shape around them like a protective bubble. It lasted for just a few seconds as the fireballs smashed into it, leaving those inside unharmed. The dome vanished again as the princess lowered her hand.
"... my turn" She said with a stern look on her face, the princess moved her hand in an arch, leaving behind a trail of light magic. A volley of light-balls began to burst out from the trail, bombaring the attacking lizards.
After the attack she took a deep breath of air. "Do not fear minister, these enemies of Hyrule shall not be victorius as long as I stand" she proclaimed with small sparks of light dancing between her fingers and she glanced around the battlefield.

The Lizalfos force was rapidly falling apart. Taken down by arrow, magic, and other methods including their own weapons, the few monsters left standing found their morale shaken. Only a duo remained attacking the Goron delegation, but they found themselves quickly distracted by the Champions coming to defend the diplomats. One of Gogrit’s men moved on this opening, swinging a great maul behind one of the standing Lizalfos and delivering a mighty wallop upon the back of its head. The beast crumpled lifelessly to the ground, and the surviving attacker found itself alone. In a frenzied panic, it dropped its spear and hurriedly scuttled off in the direction of Death Mountain on all fours.
The opposite flank assaulting Zelda and her protectors didn’t fare much better. Struck down by countered fireballs and orbs of light, most were dead or crippled by the great forces of magic. Rosa felt a great sense of relief when the princess moved to help, but felt a sick feeling in her stomach at needing help from one of Hyrule’s nobles. Making sure not to let her face betray this emotion, she looked to the few Lizalfos left still charging the Minister and princess. Rosa lowered her left hand to drop the shield and took a deep breath, closing her eyes and looking within for an answer. With a flick of her wrist, two bands of light shot forth and grasped one of the Lizalfos with great momentum. The creature flew backwards several feet and hit the ground with a thud, held arrested upon the dirt harmlessly. Two Lizalfos remained, still charging at Zelda and getting closer by the second. The murderous intent in their eyes was frightening to behold.
The Wizzrobe cursed as its attacks failed to produce enemy casualties, the mage’s lighter demeanor becoming darkened by the effort. It’s eyes flicked to the side to see the incoming kunai and it spun mystically through the air to dodge first projectiles. As more whizzed towards the magician’s position, it rose its wand and shot forth more flaming orbs. These collided with more of the kunai in small aerial explosions, ending the knives’ flights. The last few kunai were also dodged by the Wizzrobe, though one grazed its shoulder and tore at its crimson cloak. The mage shrieked an awful hiss and lowered towards the ground, black mist rising from the torn seam.
Hovering but inches above a fallen Lizalfos soldier, the Wizzrobe’s dire expression became jovial once more. The disturbing arcanist let out a howling cackle, it’s shrill voice bone-chilling in nature. Spinning its wand towards the earth below, several of the dead Lizalfos’ spears rose into the air with invisible strings. Six in total took flight, each taking equal distance from each other in a hexagon surrounding the Wizzrobe as it rose higher up. The mage snapped its fingers and the spears began to spin clockwise, slowly at first but picking up speed each moment.
“It has been fun, but the party is over!” called out the Wizzrobe, its voice haunting and high-pitched. “Eldin’s mighty child demands your ashes and I shall deliver them! They shall rise up into the smoke of your cinders and I will do a rain dance to let them pour upon His molten earth, again and again and again!” The crazed magician held forth its wand as dancing flames sprouted from its tip. He turned it upwards and let the fire lick the spinning spears to set them all alight. An internal circle of flame spun brilliantly around the Wizzrobe, its heat warping the air and turning the creature into a blur. The arcanist lowered his risen arm with gusto, in turn launching the flaming spears.
The fiery javelins seemed to almost have minds of their own, splitting apart to find their intended targets. Three spears went to the Gorons and their guardians, two towards Zelda and Rosa, and the final spear raced towards Link upon her horse. The Wizzrobe, though winded by the intense effort, chuckled hysterically to itself as it hovered in place.

Atop a nearby hill overlooking the road, further away from the fighting, stood a sailor with a spyglass and a woman in a hat and trenchcoat fiddling with an arquebus.
"It's a monster raid, captain.", spoke the sailor as he scanned the battlefield.
"And the victims?", the woman asked, opening a satchel with a few flasks of different bright shades. She shook them one by one to see if they still had magical potency.
"Victims...?" The sailor laughed awkwardly. "Easier to say that's the lizalfos. They probably didn't expect it to be the princess of Hyrule traveling up the road today..."
"The princess, you say?" She sighed. "I was afraid of that." She took a cork off of one of the flasks and took a swig.
The sailor paused and looked back at her with confusion. "...afraid of what, captain?"
"Work, Mr. Miko...." Becker spoke, taking out a bullet and dipping it in the light blue flask, before loading it into the arquebus. She knelt down and aimed the rifle, looking down the sight at the fight below, and quickly finding her target, the fire wizzrobe. Steadying her aim and holding her breath, she then pressed the trigger and fired, the loud bang and smoke revealing her position but also sending that monster a swift, icy farewell.
"Dangerous work." She added afterwards.

In the midst of the battle, Link could do little to respond to her comrade, but she dearly hoped the warrior would know her silent appreciation. As for helping the others, it seemed she was right on time.
Just ahead of her, she came to witness Her Grace's very power striking down many of those lizard men that made for her, thinning down the count about her bodyguard. Still, a couple remained. Even with so many of their allies fallen, these two seemed determined to reach her to their end.
The knight focused on these two, prepared to ensure that end, but as she approached, a red shine began to fill her vision. She sharply glanced to the side to bear witness to the Wizzrobe. Epona would have to take care of the two; Link didn't have the time to stop the monster's spell. In a single swift motion, she deftly rose up from her saddle and leaped down, bow dropping from her hands as she took up her shield.
She moved just in time, landing and throwing her shield arm forward. She could instantly feel the blow on the metal and the heat from the fire blow over the shield's edges. The spear thrown at her harmlessly flew through the air before landing several meters away. She could feel the strength of the spell in her arm, but at the very least she was safe.
Behind her, the knight's steed slammed side-on into the two Lizalfos. The sound of the struggle was enough to bring her out of the moment. Before she could even retaliate upon the sorcerer, a the telltale bang of a firearm echoed from somewhere ahead, and in the next moment, an icicle bloomed forth from the form of the monster. Good riddance.
In the distance, she spotted one of the lizard men scuttling away from the battle. From the ground, she reclaimed her bow and swiftly loosed one final arrow at the fleeing Lizalfos. If any were trying to escape, that meant they had somewhere to escape to. Best that none leave this of their own accord.
